I'm curious how a SR grill looks with Line-X...

Maybe that is why it is so big. To get to everything behind it with much more ease.

I think this grill would look really good on the Blazing Blue as well. However, I did not realize how much texture there is. That is the only part that is making me hesitate.

I like the heavy texture, gives it a rough offroad look. Also going to do my chrome rear bumper pieces, been to lazy to take it all apart.

Gonna look into this as it's cheaper to lineX the grille than to buy a brand new one..

Just curious how your grille has been holding up... any chipping or peeling?

I inquired at my local Line-X dealer and they recommended not spraying it on chrome. Did you remove the chrome first?

What is involved with getting the grille off? Did the spray have to be trimmed off anywhere to get it to fit back on?

I did mine with upol raptor liner. I have zero concerns of it holding up, did the same on my 03 and it looked great with zero chips after 4 years and 75k miles. Plus I only have about 30$ invested. If you don't have the gun and hardner you're looking at a bit more.

Was that applied directly on top of the chrome or was the chrome removed?

whatever they use to "chrome"that plastic is some tough stuff. It's all about prep, gotta really sand it good, I went 80 grit followed by adhesion promoter.

How much did your Line-X dealer charge you? I went by my local shop today and the guy quoted me at $300 to do this.

That looks awesome. I'm considering doing my fender flares because I already have 2 scratches on them and have no idea where they're coming from.

Line-X "Ultra" has less texture and you can get it in any color.

I got a quote for my cab roof and hood between $550 - $675. 300 sounds a little high.

    Everett,
The Ultra coating is our new, thin film, protective coating. We typically spray our Line-X Platinum coating on exteriors because it is less expensive and quicker. Applying a Platinum coating to the hood and roof of your Tacoma would range in price from $550 to $675 and would take about 3-4 hours to complete. The same application in Ultra would take 2 days (due to the use of a primer) and would cost an additional $150 to $200. The Ultra has a satin like finish and the Platinum has a gloss finish. We don't have a true matte finish. Please call at your earliest convenience to discuss the application.

    Thank You

$125 CAD plus tax, but I disassembled the grill and brought it in to them for spraying, likely would have been more if they did it all.
