Im taking my 848 and hypermotard to COTA this year, wonder if your 848 and SXV(your avatar looks like my old SXV) fit back there? It was tight to get 2 848s in the F150 and I used the lower tiedown ring in the middle of the bed which this truck doesnt have.

Funny, i have both the 848, and a Hyper 821 as well. You should be able to fit both no problems. I used to haul 2 sport bikes all the time in a different compact truck. The key is not using a center ring as a tie down point that will never work, an will not be stable on the more compact narrow beds. You need to criss cross the tie down meaning loop the tie down across the wheel/tire on both bikes.

My SXV is long gone, but I miss that bike dearly!

;) I have the older 1100evo corse and the 848 corse. My 450SXV was cool but I was afraid of the issues that could happen to that MotoGP engine. The 1100 isn't as light but much better torque. I took the 848 to COTA last year and had a blast.

I'm in the same boat, I have a *brand new* TRD Pro (less than 2000 miles). I previously had an ACLB and switching to a DCSB obviously shortened my bed length significantly. My main hesitations is I think I will sh*t my pants the second I bring a drill to anything on my truck... I'm sure I can have my Toyota dealer install for me but at what cost? (3 easy payments of $99.99 plus tax probably) Has anyone opted for dealer install and can confirm the fee?

Only the Nissan Frontier/Titan have that type of mounting system.

Anyone know of a bed extender that will work with bed stiffeners?

Were you able to get the bed extender and bedrug to play nice? Thinking of doing that setup on my truck.

Does anyone know if I can buy just the little plastic price that’s connected to the extender itself that latches onto the bracket?

Having installed one of these I can truly say that it is an easy installation. As long as you take your time, it's not too terrible to do. Simply use a center punch, a small pilot bit and work your way up through the bit sizes. Then use some touch-up paint and you'll be golden. The template for where to mount the mounts is here:

    https://www.toyotaparts.metro-toyot...EXTENDER_PT329-35050_REV._A_--PT329-35050.pdf

You may need to adjust the height slightly to your liking, but honestly it's not that difficult.

The install is so easy. I did it 5 min. It took longer to assemble the extender than to drill and mount the brackets. Just make sure you tape the templates and check your clearance with the tailgate closed and then Open. Take your time if you are nervous. Having the dealer do it is a waste of money.

Also, when you set the templates, take your extender and Line up the pin with center of the bracket picture and make sure that your extender is nice and level when it is deployed with the tailgate opened.

You can get the template from the AMP research website.
