Another member that I have PM with about this came across some info and sent me this,

"Someone mentioned in an unrelated thread that the Body Control Module is what controls this. I looked up the parts and there are "Canada spec", "Hawaii spec" etc. versions of the BCM available so maybe there is something to this. You can get a BCM for about $100 on eBay but I haven't found anyone that has tried swapping theirs yet."

So that is about the most info I know on this. I would be up for testing out a "BCM" if it's doable without needing to reprogram other control modules on the truck. My fear is that the BCM won't work correctly if it is not programmed for the other computers in the truck.

You guys can all take this opportunity to learn a logical way of measurement. :canada: https://www.vox.com/2015/2/16/80311...cale he used became, and salt mixture to reach.

Wow - ice freezes at 0 degrees, not 32 degrees. And Water boils at 100 degrees, not 212 degrees.

If set to Auto in the 3rd gen, I like it at 21 C with a jacket on, or 22C with a light jacket in winter. However in my wife's Lexus, I set it to 23 in the with heavy jacket or 24 with light jacket.

It is just a number turn it to where it's comfortable and leave it there. Don't get stressed out over a logical temperature measurement medium

An easy quick way to roughly convert C to F is the following:

Double the C temperature, then add 30. Its not exact, but close enough for climate control settings.

To go the other way....F to C:
Subtract 30 from the F temperature, then divide by 2. Not exact, but close enough for hand grenades and shot guns.

And this week I found out that the infotainment screen protector I added to prevent scratches peels up at about -40ºc , along with everything else the truck was SUPER unhappy about. I have 1,800 km on the ODO (so everything is brand new), felt like I had no brakes and no steering. I'm sure the diffs were trying to rotate through cold molasses too. At least it's slowly warming up - its only -30ºc now.

Wow. That's chilly. I remember driving my old 89' 4runner (manual 3.slow) back in they day in about -30c and really took it easy to let the diffs and tranny slowly warm up. I could feel how thick the oil was just by letting out the clutch... Oh and i could only hear music from the tweeters. the woofers were frozen....

I 100% agree. Now just convince the rest of the US and I won't have to constantly think about how the °C compared to what I know as comfortable.

F it. I'm 2nd gen American, but French Canadian descent. It shouldn't be too hard to convert!

21.5 In the winter, 20 in the summer. Literally never touch mine, let it do all the work.

    Well, this works:

    C to F
Divide by 5, then multiply by 9, then add 32

Nothing programmable in the hvac setup

I just swapped the whole automatic climate control unit with one I bought on eBay from an American truck it changed nothing. Has anyone figured this out it really annoys me and I don’t feel like doing math so if your answer is to convert you can fuck right off I want to fix this problem.
