I have aftermarket headlight bulbs both the headlights and fog lights have been converted to HID's. The entire interior and exterior bulbs have almost all been converted to LED bulbs. I also have an AMP Research Powerstep wired up. Other then that I have not messed with any other wiring. The dash use to work intermittently but I think my luck has finally run out and the dash has been like this for a while now. image1(1).jpg

    Okay that's scary!

Why would changing headlights and interior bulbs do that unless something got shorted out when you were changing the bulbs.

    :annoyed:

Not the first time someone screwing around with the OEM lighting has given themselves a problem. When will people learn?

installing led lights isn't going to cause issues.....

unless you blew a fuse.... seems that's what it might be

There's been a few threads since the truck came out where people swapped headlights or interior lights and ended up with electrical gremlins. This particular symptom is new to me though.

    Example:

I have checked all of the fuses under the hood and under the divers side panel. Everything checked out to be fine.

I'm no electrician, but, is it possible that the LEDs have a different power "draw?" Maybe now that you've switched out everything, the fuses are no longer set up properly? On my Jeep, I started using the cigarette lighter for more and more. It failed a lot. I too looked under the dash and the fuse was fine. Well, on further research, there was another fuse under the hood. I needed to "up" that one and solved the problem.

I would imagine that the engineers would have designed the led lights to draw the same amount of current as the stock ones. However I can do some testing when I get home. I have leds just on the maps and dome, with no issues. LED's should draw low power to begin with.

Or maybe @dmachado808 accidentally switched the language to "The Matrix" and just cannot read it anymore...

What wire do you have the amp boars to?

I really can't see this being caused by anything you did unless you wired something wrong and have feed back

I wouldn't call it "changes" the premise is still the same, supply current to a device that consumes it (consumes it is a misnomer, it meerly converts it the light and heat). The only resultant issue is possible a cheap led design and a short resulting in a blown fuse (provided the electrical engineer designed it correctly), even is said 'short' happens it blows the fuse and damages the dimmer r/c circuit, he would end up with no lights "on that circuit". So you can safely say, nothing he did (as long as he just changed the bulbs and nothing else) caused this issue. My advise put the stock bulbs back in and take it to the dealership. The reason I say put the stock bulbs back in is because the dealer in order to save money will say it was the bulbs.

Ah shit, time to put the stock bulbs back in and go to another dealership. Looks like they are going to play hardball with you.

I would've just changed it back to stock from the get go

Hopefully they didn't file this under your vin number within the Toyota database. If so, your screwed.
