That makes sense because that was a newer version than B01. To be clear, Matt’s post says: It is HIGHLY recommended for customers with older trucks (early 2016) that you get the TSB flash before trying to tune with the handheld. Our handheld tuner will NOT support ECU versions earlier than 04B02.
He is talking specifically about handhelds in this post, but I think it applies to all platforms of uploading the tune.

easiest way would be to go to a local Autozone or Advanced Auto and ask them to check the Cal ID for your truck or as already stated, spend $15-20 and buy your own OBDII reader from almost anywhere and check it yourself

04B00 AND 04B10 are not supported with the 1.05 tune, you will need to look for 04B02 or higher

That should have you sitting at 04b03. I would still check like others have mentioned. You can ask autozone to check for you since they usually have scanners to read codes. This would tell you the calibration id. I say to make sure because there were at least 3 people I flashed the tsb to who the dealer straight lied to about what version they were on. These guys were all on 04b00 but the dealer said they were on 03

Or go to your Regional page and make a post for someone close that has the OBDII adapter they used for their OVTune and see if they will read your ECU version for you. If you were in Denver I would scan it for you. FYI - I am on 04B03 and waiting for 1.05 - not taking my truck to Toyota and have to pray they will diagnose and install the newest TSB. A trip to the dentist is way less stressful than getting the dealer to do any TSB. JMO.

I wish they weren't off this weekend. :p I understand why they need to break, but I just sent in my ECU ID. Hopefully, upon his return I will get 1.05 :D

Can anyone give me some advice on Techstream? Yes I've used the search function here with no luck. I have the website page open, I just don't know what version I'm supposed to download, there are multiple on that site. Trying to download on a windows 10 laptop. Just at first glance I see 12.20.024, 12.30.017 and 13.00.022

Do you happen to know if that's compatible with an 18' tacoma? Forgot to put that in my post

I'm guessing that's the 13, but when I clicked on it the expanded description is "Mini VCI Toyota Techstream", and it only mentions Windows 7. I have 0 experience with tuning, techstream, or flashing a vehicle, so I'm just trying to make sure I don't download a virus or brick my truck

Didn't you just order a tune? If so, why not follow the directions?
