Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Because I can't progress any farther until they register my software. I want techstream for future logging etc., but at the moment I want to download it because I WILL disable as many of these stupid chimes as I possibly can

 

And as I understand it, OVTune doesn't come with Techstream. Or am I completely wrong? As I said, this is all new to me.

 

As far as I know the new OVTune file manager is including a standalone logger of Mats design. Shouldn’t need TechStream for logging at that point (someone correct me if I’m wrong and I’ll edit)

I believe you're right. I still want techstream for the other options though

 

Hell yah! 1.03 was pretty damn good.

 

Techstream is proprietary Toyota software, doubt it’ll ever be distributed by OVTune, unless you want a lawsuit on your hands

Yeah for sure! I grabbed 12.10.019 from one of the links posted earlier in the thread and it worked for my 2016. I haven’t done anything with it other than flashing the most recent TSB, however.

 

Exactly what I'm trying to obtain. I already have access to the website to download it, I just don't know which version I'm supposed to download, there are multiple versions, but not all say compatible with windows 10, is an older version compatible with my new truck, etc etc

 

I’m happy to design them if needed...just offering. This is a great place for input

 

Just took a long drive to Colorado. Shifting all over the place, can’t hold a gear, always hanging in 4th gear, just driving me nuts. I have read every post in this thread and can’t wait for some reviews of 1.05!

I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong but the free version that was posted here a couple months ago does not work on the 2018.

Only thing I couldn't get to work it live data. I can change all the settings and read dtc and reset learning computers.

 

People who want techstream and not sure what version they’re running / how to get it are just asking for a bricked ECU

 

Thinking about ordering the Doug Thorley down pipes for my 2018 TRD Sport which will connect to URD Y Pipe and cat-back exhaust. According to the installation manual it states "Installation of these downpipes will trigger a CEL (check engine light). This minor problem can be corrected with either a performance tune or tuner, and/or an o2 sensor simulator offered by many companies in the aftermarket". http://www.dougthorleyheaders.com/images/documents/519-DS-C.pdf

Is the @OVTune able to solve the CEL problem?

 

For the time being we will not remove / disable any CEL on any truck unless it is dedicated for off-road use (which proof will need to be provided). This is to maintain our emissions cert and EPA regulations.

 

Smart. Don't need a "Bully Dog" to bring the whole thing down on your head and end all of our happiness. FYI - took the negative lead off the battery (20 + minutes) to clear learning - truck runs like it did after initial 1.04 flash. ??? thought we were done with the learning stuff that mucks up the shifting and performance.
