Negative. Yes you can. Only if you had the TSB done and was on 1.04R, you could not revert back to versions prior to 1.04R.

    You are correct.

I created a ticket last week for gear lock. I also mentioned tire size and gear ratio - because you said something about it in a previous post. All I want is gear lock (and if having 4.88's and 37's really matter). Do I need to make a new ticket once you are ready to release gear lock or will my original ticket be sufficient?

I only posted the above list to put things in perspective for those who may not realize how much work Mat still has just to finish all of the ECUs. Hell, I didn't even realize how many ECUs were left until I made the list.

But yeah, there are a number of unfortunate souls who need to resolve individual file issues, as well. I'm sure there are a handful for each and every ECU ID.

This release is far from done, and I do not envy the task of putting out every fire and making every customer happy.

Yep, it's a lot to do. But more than that even. Because putting the same things on all ECU ID would just be copy paste.
But that's not the case. Toyota makes wide changes with each, unlike other manufactures that may update a bug or two, Toyota makes huge updates. So to make the tune "same" for everyone requires taking all of toyotas changes + tune and updating it into older ecu IDs.
Unfortunately this is required because Toyota dealerships are being real A**holes to customers wanting the TSB.
So think of it like this.
Automatic ECU ID 04B02 is windows vista.
Automatic ECU ID 04B04 is window 10.
    On the same truck.

And 2019s are revised even further. 2018s also have modifications for adaptive cruise.

I've worked with many ecu IDs before, that's no problem. I've done..easily 250+ unique ECU IDs for mazda. But one big difference is its all the same tune.
With toyota, not so much. Each ECU ID (and because they are TSBs for big problems) means there are many changes. Not even close to "the same tune."

It seems that Toyota has functioned under this philosophy for many decades. Each year has had its changes even tho one would thing they would be the same. It’s funny how many times I have had to give Toyota a vin for all the Toyota’s I have owned just to make sure I get the right part for that year or even half year. Lol.

I'm just going to throw this out there - YES, it was/is worth the wait. Matt said he wouldn't release 1.05 until it was finished and he pretty much nailed it!
I just loaded 1.05 (87 octane) onto my '17 OR DCSB automatic 4x4, TRD Pro CAI, MBRP dual exhaust, 2.5" lift, Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX 255/80-17 load range E (33" and heavy) tires.

Took the truck for an 18 mile mini test run and yes, YES, YES the truck now has low range balls. As in torque. No stumble. No hesitation. Touch the throttle and go - now.
Not .473 seconds from now. Not let me figure out what gear to use. NOW!
Almost as if drive-by-wire was GONE. Smooth, steady, torque.
Cruising @ 35 mph and need to accelerate a bit? Go ahead, a little throttle and no downshift, just smooth power. Now you're cruising @ 45.

I was considering regearing my truck because of the poor low end torque performance but now I'm thinking 1.05 just saved me $1,200+

To me, 1.05 did for 1.04 as 1.04 did for the stock tune. I know I'm sounding like a fanboy here but please believe me a fanboy I'm not. If I post a review on something I post an honest review - the positives and the negatives. As of right now, in the short time I have spent driving 1.05, I've discerned no negative qualities. I was looking, listening, feeling for something bad but I haven't found them as yet.

No I don't want the tune to fail. I spent good money for this and I want a good product. With 1.04 I was happy. With 1.05 I am VERY HAPPY.
If negatives do arise I will post them here, not as a complaint but as passing along my experience, but I am not expecting any.

I'm thinking after I run this tank of gas out I'll fill up with 93 and load up that tune. Then again, that may NOT be a good idea.

I have a 2018 OR DCSB. 9600 miles. I want 1.05. Should i get all tsb updates done at 10k oil change (if so, what are the ones i need)? or does the tune include all updated tsb's when flashed?

1.05 93 with ECT on is practically perfect for me. Has the get up and go but it still smooth. The shift points and throttle are spot on for my truck. Thanks @OVTune

1.05 will incorporate all the TSB updates. If the dealer will do it for you I would, that will hold you over until Matt can get you the tunes.

Just a heads-up, some dealers are hesitant to TSB/ECU updates. At least the ones in Portland are. I would read the TSB and explain to them that you are experiencing those symptoms.

There is one that mentions "stumble at wide open throttle at high elevations." I would get that one done.
