If a 1.03 aggressiveness was incorporated into a 1.05 version i think it would be ideal for any truck that’s beyond stock.

Power and tip in of 1.03, smoothness and mpgs of 1.05. Less quick shift to 4th would be nice too to keep the momentum of the truck up.

Not sure if it’s even possible.

All in all 1.05 is still a great improvement. Most of us aren’t seeing the power we want likely because of this engines characteristics with the Atkinson and TC behavior

As it stands, the new 1.05 is the only tune available for 2019 trucks. Once the dust settles, I hope to see something like you just described made available as a custom tune. I'd love to be able to test 1.03 itself, but I'm not sure how difficult it would be for Mat to simply port all the old tunes for 2019 ECUs.

I definitely plan to spend a good deal of time testing vanilla 1.05 before any of that, though. I really can't wait to (hopefully) get that chance this afternoon! :headbang:

Yes, but only when cold, and it is minor.

The power is there but you would have to drive your truck @3500 rpm's everywhere to feel it ! I agree on the 1.03 power and tip in! But with all the mods on my truck custom tuning is going to be a must!

I agree. The shifting is awesome but the new tune keeps the truck in a lower rpm. Its ideal for stock trucks, but anyone with larger tires needs to stay in the higher rmps to make it drivable.

This is why I went with the first version of the 1.05 tune. The longer shift from 1>2 gives more power to get up and go from a stop. And is awesome for slow terrain crawling

Totally agree....It runs pretty well in S with ect on though...lost some power from 1.04a.. and I would guess 1.03 but never tried that...for just driving and economy 1.05 is great imo..like I would have expected from factory and more

At the moment, I just have 33" skinnies. Everything else is stock.

I'm lifting it and adding a bunch of weight in March, though, so that's really what I've been paying attention to with the feedback I've read here.

I notice it getting into 4th quite a bit too quick as well. That’s only if I’m light on the throttle, heavy on the throttle keeps 3rd longer, but shouldn’t have to floor it to hold 3rd long enough to not lug in fourth. I see others mentioning it also, so I’m sure he’ll have a common fix to apply to all of us through custom tuning that are impacted by it, just in time.

I think I just have to get used to it for a bit also. I’m also on 33’s, so custom tuning will come into play for me later either way.

I'm bone stock on 1.05 and do not have a clunk from 2 - 1 downshift. I should note that under any stock or OVTune (1.03, 1.04 and 1.04r), I never had a clunk.

70-75 mph return trip from Boston.
    ECT ON
    18.7 mpg
    1.05 93

*** for me, I get better mpg with ECT on at speed. I logged 16.7 on the way there and was driving slower without ECT. Personally, I feel that anything <1,800 rpms is less efficient unless it’s super flat ***

I’m on 3 inch lift with 285/75/16 with method wheels Flashed 1.05 91 this morning and was kind of skeptical about feeling the difference but. It’s a whole new truck. Idle is perfect, the motor is much more quiet it holds every gear perfect the interstate is so much better. I can actually just relax when I drive now not think it’s gonna gear hunt again. Low end power is so much better and I only put 15 miles on the tune so far. I love it. Matt you did a fine job.

Gotta say, the truck drove like shit today. Had to really stomp the gas to get it to do anything, VERY sluggish response, and I kept feeling like I was getting this strange "lurch" the whole drive. What's really weird though, is that once I got home and detached the trailer the truck drives normal again.....

    Maybe 91 is the key
    Kinda hope not...
If so then there’s no reason not to turbo this thing

I’ve said this before, but I’ll reiterate for the noobs. Fuel economy ratings on the window aren’t based on real world driving. I have seen so many complaints about mpgs being bad in these trucks. Drive your truck at 60mph and see how your mpgs compare to the window sticker.

Recent EPA fuel economy test from the EPA website:
    7458BBBF-B689-4447-A531-29F118256E4A.jpg

Notice the amount of time spent at each speed.

to update my earlier complaint of the truck skipping the 4th gear downshift.

took the truck for a 200 Mile trip today. over the same road it was acting up on

and it doesn't do it anymore.

about 4 tanks of fuel in on this trip. was only one tank in on first trip.

how can this be? i thought the trans learning was disabled?.

    not complaining. truck ran awesome!!.

infact i spent half the day offroad, and it's the best its ever been in 4wh and 4wl. and down the highway...

The previous times I made this trip, I didn’t do better than 19 mpg. And that was when the truck was 200 lbs lighter.
