I get some steering wheel vibration around 2000 too, but I had them worse on stock than I do now with 1.05. They are still there though.

Same here. Had them worse on stock.
AND: 1.05 helps stay out of the range of vibes because it uses 6th more affectively.

Yeah, I just think exactly "where" the harmonics surface can vary by truck. Mine were worse with 1.05 than the TSB but both were better than pre-TSB stock for certain. I just wish I could figure out how to properly mute the remaining vibes but I guess numb hands on the highway are just part of owning a 3rd gen as it stands today :)

Isn't it ridiculous they can't make a vibe free vehicle in this day and age? My 66 Chevelle is smoother than this truck. <Sigh>

I wasn't complaining about it at all, they are actually better with 1.05 than stock 0b03.
I also don't have a problem with premature hair loss or ED, so there's that.

Your Tacoma vibrates so bad that it makes your hands go numb on a highway drive? I find that a bit hard to believe.

It's not an exaggeration, though it's not quite that bad on the TSB with 93 octane in the tank. On pre-TSB stock and even 1.05 in certain RPM ranges I absolutely have had my hands feel numb. Its a great feature of the Tacoma. Busted your hand open? just drive on the highway and the pain will disappear! :)

I've come to live with it for the most part. Besides, it gave Toyota some room to grow. They'll release the 2020s with a new package that mounts the engine and exhaust properly - but it'll be optional and dealers will be sure to put a market adjustment on that package for sure!

Eh, I like the roughness of the Tacoma in most respects. I am one of those guys some people hate b/c I do like to drive a truck that feels like a truck. It doesn't need to be crossover refined, but basic things like floorboards vibrating and steering pulsing really shouldn't be happening at cruise speeds on a new truck. Nor does a midsize need to feel heavy like an oversized, underpowered full size in terms of weight... but at least Mat helps with that last issue!

yes you can, but not with the Carista app. You can use the Carista device, but hook it up to OBD Fusion app on your phone, buy the PID pack for our trucks, then you can configure a log to get any values you want. it only tops out around 7-8 PID readings per second so it will give you directional data on shifting, ignition, misfires, temperatures - but there is a lag so spotting things like detonation/knock are difficult with such a refresh rate. still valuable and fun to tinker with though
