So if I understand correct, the $600 tune is the same as the $770 tune, just without the cable? I can buy one of the cheap tablets below to instal the tune and keep its data on it?

 

Yes, and yes as long as it runs windows and has at least 1 USB port.

You still need to buy the adapter. I *believe* other adapters will work to flash, but don't expect to get support for them from OVtune.

I’ve been trying to follow OVtune since I purchased my 2018 OR in October. I have read over the install instructions and have a few questions. How will I be able to save my stock tune incase I ever have to flash back for warranty work? I don’t see anything about extracting the stock tune and saving it? Are the directions on the install page still accurate for the new 1.05 version? How long is the average wait time when place your order from Ovtune? I’m sure all of these questions have been asked. I appreciate any insight!

Mat sends the stock files with the tune and it’ll be available in flash manager once that’s released

Buy software package only and you are in the game as soon as your money left you pocket..

 

Okay that makes sense. One last question. I keep hearing about this new “flash manager” should I wait to order until that is ready or what is going to be changing with that update?

I would go ahead and order now,with any luck the new flash manager and new tune files will be up and running by the time you get your kit and go through the registration process

Seriously, you won't be disappointed. Order the tune with or without the cable, it's up to you. Bottom line is your truck will be much happier after flashing the tune. An added bonus is you will be too.

 

You can also download your current stock tune with the software before you overwrite it.

 

Alright I just pulled the trigger and ordered the package with the cable! Now the wait is on.. hopefully the install process won’t be too bad!
