Well... just had the stutter happen with original 1.02 file. @1600RPM going ~40mph. Caught me off guard at first. Going to load the new file tonight and fingers crossed!
Ps OVTUNE you are a mad man! Awesome work and helping out the Tacoma community. A+

Im curious to hear feed back from those that decide to run the 1.02B (has 1.01B shift map) and how it compares to 1.02. I didnt see anything wrong with my shifting on 1.02. Be nice to hear more that "it shifts nice"

I've had low rpm mid to high load stutter since day one. I have 6000 miles now. 1.01B muted it a bit, but I'm interested to see what 1.02 can do for it. If it is still present, is that something that can be fixed via tune on the MT? I Pulled my crank sensor a few weeks ago and it appeared to be the latest version, but I may pick up the latest part number anyway just to try also. I'm a March 2017 production.

Yes it's possible by filling some of Toyotas absolutely insane ignition maps.

Have I showed you guys? It's almost like someone pit them together with a blind fold

Thank you for doing this - and sorry if we sent you on what may be a wild goose chase. Maybe with time it can be figured out, but indeed the shifting is weird with this update. Love the other changes in smoothness and power, but they are overshadowed some by the shifting. Thanks for trying to fix that piece for us on this release though. Next time....

Is there any specific things you can describe that make the shifting weird? I like it the way it shifts on the first 1.02 so I wonder if im missing something here

So here is one of the Tacomas Ignition maps (high compression, atkinson, dual intelligent VVTI) vs Mazda SkyG (high compression, atkinson, dual intelligent VVTI)
    This is not a joke.

What is that shit, I dont know exactly what is is but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see there is something wrong there. Is that the stock tune?

On acceleration it races up to 5th or 6th way too early - like while still accelerating and it shouldn't be upshifting that quick. It creates the scenario where you have 2 options... putter along slowly accelerating while bogging in 6th or push on it then it slams down to 3rd and takes off like a rocket ship. In areas where I'd normally see myself in the 1500-1750 range in 4th, it's jumping to 6th and cruising along at like 970 rpms. When accelerating it does seem to hold gears too long though in the lower gears - like someone else mentioned, it's not that dissimilar from ECT on stock. Which is fine when I want to use ECT (generally mountains, hilly country roads, towing, heavy loads) but I don't ECT-always-on. Just not quite right unfortunately, but I get it was hard to work out with the complexity.

But main issue is the obscenely fast upshifts to 6th when even stock would probably have had it in 4th still, if that makes sense?

Power = nice; Throttle response = awesome; idle smoothness = fantastic; gas mileage = seems to be slightly improved but need more cycles. Shifting = downgrade from 1.01b

But... what's fantastic and what we have to all recognize is that Mat has been working pretty much nonstop all week on getting this out and has barely slept before diving back in today in anticipation of the big release day. That's something - and I certainly appreciate it.

I work in software - I know how "go-lives" always go. You test thoroughly, you work out the bugs, then you user test (Dyno), work out some more bugs and feel you're ready for release. NO amount of testing can replace broad usage... and there are ALWAYS updates immediately following a big release. I'm just astounded @OVTune is keeping up with demand. Deserves a weekend for sure!

Now that you described it I do notice it happening like that to me but I attributed it to how I like to get up to speed quickly and the trans just shifts through the gears in to overdrive coast along (6th)
So you would prefer at 45mph to have the trans in 4th at 2k rpm instead of 6th at 1k?

I installed 1.02B, going to give it at LEAST 100 miles before I comment this time...this learning is just so lame...really makes the truck a Dr. Jekyl Mr Hyde issue.

That being said...ECT is flawless. Every time. And that's fuckin rad.

If I'm still accelerating (in an environment where I can't just floor it...) yes, I don't expect it to be jumping to 6th while I'm still accelerating in that range. But all is good - Mat's sent the files for the update. I'll flash in the morning and give it a stroll!

You and me both bud. Release has 3 months of discussion, a week of build and a week of testing and the day it goes live the ONE thing you missed is caught. By everyone. And it has to be backed out immediately.

Sigh. I feel for Mat. Now that 1.02B is out there, maybe it's best to make some very very small incremental feature updates that get tested first through a group of "core users" that opt into the testing. Then release after that validation occurs.
