After running the 87 gear lock tune for about 700 miles, I was fed up with the slow speed jerkiness and unpredictable surging. My driveway is slightly inclined and I nearly bumped into the garage door twice while backing in. Parking lot maneuvering was irritating and heavy stop and go traffic was a little stressful and embarrassing. I'm not saying it wasn't manageable, but I just didn't like compensating for the on-off acceleration at crawl speed. I flashed to 87 base this afternoon and all is well again. I'm looking forward to the glitches being worked out in the future with the performance tunes. I am very pleased the dogginess of the stock setup is gone.

Not quite yet, been working on updating orders.
This is a priority for me tomorrow along with sending out development updates for the 4.0 tacoma.

We are also adding a new vehicle to the stable tomorrow

Things are moving quickly this year.

Wait... why on earth would you intentionally screw up versioning by using the exact same tune names for updated/modified tunes?

    :frusty:

PLEASE consider adding new build numbers to all filenames in the future. Using a simple date format would suffice, ie. 20190411 for today's date.

Cuz it’s the fixed version of the same file? I don’t disagree tho. Label as 1.05v2 or something.

Not like you can see what version is loaded on your truck anyway since everyone had a meltdown about that…

I'm more concerned with filename versioning than anything else. There shouldn't be any need to delete old tune files if he simply adds BUILD NUMBERS to the updated/fixed versions of any tune. For example, he could append a simple date format to the filename, such as "-20190411" for today's date.

This would allow everyone to download new updates without ever having to wonder what versions of 93-performance they're actually looking at on their hard drive or flashing.

After two tanks using the 91 Performance tune I am torn. The tip in isn't too bad but it is a tad aggressive. The issue I have is there are a lot of dead spots and I felt the 1.05 91 Base tune with ECT did a great job. The 91 performance tune with ECT on the highway is fantastic but I just don't know If I want to keep it. I love the performance aspect of it but those dead spots discourage me sometimes. Any other thoughts or experiences with this specific tune that are similar? Did you just stick it out?

I have seen a similar issue with 87 performance but to be fair it was in the stock tsb as well.

For some reason, if you are already accelerating at a reasonable rate and the stomp on it, it doesn't accelerate super fast.

If you instead let go of the pedal and then stomp on it, it accelerates noticeably faster than doing so when it's already pressed.+

It seems there is a recall for the PCS for 2018+ Tacomas and its requiring a software update. Do we know how that software update affect the tune already installed on the truck?
