How do you activate the gear lock on the new Base + Gearlock? Is it shift over to S and you're automatically in it or...?

See I always said that the most logical way to have all 3 tunes on your truck was regular D is Base, ECT is Performance, and shifting over to S is Gear lock. That being said, Idk if theres a wall that prevents @OVTune from programming the truck that way. I understand there are limitations, but if it can be done then that seems like the most logical way to do it.

That is in the works too. Mat posted a month or so ago about a plan to use Crawl Control to switch between tunes. That is a ways off though. Late in the year?

Crawl control? Not everyone has it. Would we have to give up our Crawl Control for it? I heard him saying Cruise Control, but still. If I have to give up my cruise control use for switching tune then I aint down. A button (or moving the stick sideways) to activate/deactivate a tune is the simplest thing possible.

Swap tune based on octane availability/price at the pump! How cool would that be?

Its the simplest way to do it for the user, again Idk if theres a technical wall that would prohibit it.

I understand what you’re saying. Several expressed the same frustration. I don’t want to speak for Mat, but it sounded like he was trying to utilize available, unused, switches he could access through ECU. CC switch does nothing unless you are in 4lo. If you need CC it would still be available and use the last tune you selected. I am sure @OVTune is listening to all of us, and trying to scratch all of our itches. I have CC, so I think it is a great idea! YMMV, and he knows that.

Excellent! Will those new 1.05.01 04B30 files be available for dongle users, as well?

Also, has there been any progress on adding the Reset functionality to the dongle utility? I personally have Techstream, but it would still be cool to do everything in one tool.

Whatever the case, thank you again for all you do!

I prefer To have ECT. It is uniquely different from performance and is ideal when towing

Overriding stock items like ECT is not a good experience when a combo of things like S and ECT make more sense. ECT > Performance

How does gearlock tune work when using ECT without having it in S mode? I was under the impression gearlock only activates with ect then s mode but otherwise it would be like regular ect.

I have not loaded a gear lock tune yet, but I could have swore I read that ECT activated gear lock with these applicable tunes, and once ECT was activated, the truck would not downshift unless done so via S-Mode. Is this not the case?

    Incorrect.

Correct. Even in D, if you use ECT, it will not downshift unless the RPMs drop really low, or if you use cruise control.
