That’s because it won’t downshift with ECT on.

It is a 'feature' of gearlock. So far the beta tunes are only with GearLock.

While I'm waiting to get my reg file, can somebody post the exact instructions for using the dongle? I was reading through them and I don't have the USB drive anymore just the thing that plugs into the truck and the cord to connect it to my laptop. I was just kinda getting confused with the instructions..would feel more comfortable if somebody who has the dongle can make it a bit more clear to me

The USB is the dongle. If that is the kit you have, you need it or you can't do anything.
If your kit is the dongle-less one, you don't need it and should follow the dongle-less video instructions.

There's a Chuck Berry song in there somewhere.

Send this in to zen desk. I have the same problem. Damn near crashed into my 18 ft trailer trying to back up and hook up. It may be my imagination but I think the tip in from a standing stop has gotten worse as far as having some dead petal and then jerk from a stop light. I’m on my third tank of 93 oct gas.

I’m not sure what is worst... the time someone broke into my truck and stole a multi-thousand dollar software key (dongle) or you losing your OV Tune dongle.. hopefully you can find it, otherwise you’ll have to purchase new license key. FWIW there are no longer dongles, since the new software is registered to your computer.

I have been on 030 for quite sometime(7,000 miles) and would like to update ECU to 040 in the morning, without making a trip to the stealership-in order to get the most out of the tune. Am also moving to another state soon and am hoping to get a little bit more towing power. Would anyone be able to post the link to the update tutorial? The TechStream and steps on how to do it. I know it's a bit back in the thread but not sure where. Thank you! And good work @OVTune !

I agree, the first day I flashed it was great. Smooth start from a stop and once you slightly push the pedal it goes but now it seems to have a slight hesitation then it goes. I’m only about 75 miles in on the tune but today it has been a different experience.

I understand the switch is easy enough, but I doubt Mat would just send out another license with an unaccountable for dongle. Then again, I could be wrong.. maybe I’m underestimating how much trust he puts in his customers?
You shipped it back or misplaced it?

Mat mentioned last year that if you happen to damage your dongle you could mail it in and he would convert you over to a dongle-less setup w/ reg key. That’s all I’ve heard of this. I’m sure anything else would be case by case.

Shipped it back, as per requested by Matt. I just bought the kit off a member from here.

So with me shipping it back, do I follow the video guide to the T?

That makes more sense. I thought you lost your original dongle when I read your post.

Follow the instructions for dongle-less setup and you’ll be good to go.
