How much are the handheld tuners running? And how are the updates downloaded to the tuner? Interesting.

I wasn't behind the wheel and do have a lot of experience in snow. The OR person was not and was wrapping up some big wheelspin. I had him go to MTS / CC to save a CV. So yes, it was necessary for him. Myself, I enjoy playing in snow and would have worked it some more before surrendering.

Still, looking back on the experience, I feel that a set of chains would have made it no drama at all. I don't think airing down would have helped and had my tank along (floating versus cutting). Even then, the solid builds that went by us while we fucked around all came back within 10min saying it only got worse ahead.

You do know that MTS is nothing more than ATRAC that you can select how much input it provides, versus ATRAC which is either on or off...

I've been in 1 situation where I needed CC when the locker and MTS weren't getting me out of a nasty hole...CC got me unstuck in a matter of a few seconds.

Clearly, I do. I know what my Sport has and what the OR / Pro have. Thus, this discussion.

Every situation is different as is every driver. The situation that I described was as close to an even comparison as I have experienced. You will note that I credited MTS / CC and have done so since I witnessed it first hand. But again, I don't see it as something that I need to have. If we had the opportunity to have an ACLB OR MT, then I would have gone that route. In the end, the Sport is what fit my needs.

In other adventures, I did just as well as lifted Tacos with AT / MT tires, but we were all at no more than 5/10 of the capability.

BTW just in case you think I am bragging or some other BS, I make no claims to any great skills and have generally found myself in over my head too many times to count. As I said, I do enjoy the snow. I have worked myself free many times over my driving experiences. But, I also have needed a yank out of sand too embarrassingly often. That has me being cautious with the Taco even though the soft stuff calls to me.

Drove to work on the latest 2.0 and it was amazing. Approximately 50 miles from 0-3000ft and I am amazed how well it did. I can’t wait to put some lighter All Terrains on and I think it’ll be dialed in. Only tiny complaint was I felt I needed to use too much throttle input to get it to downshift to 4th. I am sure I’ll get used to it though. Excited for the 4.88 tune

I'd still be smirking if it wasn't for the backhanded "northern US" comment. FUCK NO.

LMAO Tony... what a guy :)

Pretty smug for a guy without a locker! But hey, that's how you 'muricans roll if you want an AC M/T :D

Hey, hey, HEY! I refer to us as Southern Canada!

We declared our Northern US dual citizenship back in 2000. :D We might have celebrated July 3rd a few times with some British friends. I prefer lines on a map to be blurry.

The locker will happen someday, along with manual hubs.

I'm a Millionaire! One Million Posts!!
I had been waiting for the thread to reach 50k posts before I updated to 2.0-Beta3.....

Well not really. But I did just do the update this morning, going from v1.05(91) straight to beta3. I had not loaded the previous beta's. Normally I don't stay on the bleeding edge with the tune, I always wait for the reviews to come pouring in... and then wait a while longer. But in the (only) 15 miles I've driven on beta3 so far, I can say that it feels/drives like a perfectly normal vehicle. It does what you would expect it to do, and when you would expect it to do it. I did the 10-minute idle after tuning, but no "pulls" of any sort. But I always have 93 in the tank anyway, so things should only get better from here, and "here" is about perfect so far.

I just flashed to 2.0 beta on my 2019 TRD Pro (04B31) and also experienced this issue on one of my "pulls" in ECT mode. I did 3 'pulls' in Drive, then did 3 'pulls' in ECT mode and it it happened on my 1st 'pull' in ECT mode. It has only happened once in ECT mode so far and has not repeated yet. Still under 10 miles of the new flash, so we'll see.

Have about 20 miles on 2.0. Have to say my '17 on 87 now runs better than my 2nd gen ever did! No longer need Shift Sense Pro!

It's 10:30AM and already 101 degrees, due to hit 110 (again). Sweet! Perfect for a couple of beers, poolside.
