You can have a 2017 and have a non dongle kit. It just depends on when you bought the tune. Any owner buying OVTune now, regardless of year Taco, would get a non dongle kit and would have to use p5f.

Turn off your virus scanner and re-install flash manager.

 

Handheld instructions, updates, pending orders etc are all set to be finished by the end of this month.

I'm going as fast as possible with everything.

Also to be clear there is no different tunes that are "handheld only" etc and the only people with one currently still own the flash kit and access to all tunes.

 

I'll trade you for my cable/OBDII connector.

 

Thanks Gents, I do not have the dongle so P5Flash has worked to this point. The P5Flash button is not grayed out but after I click it I get the ready... at the bottom and it does not launch the program. I deleted every firewall/anti virus I could find and completely reinstalled the program. Tried it again this morning making sure the cable was connected, 2 pushes on start, open program go to P5Flash (not grayed out) and still get the Ready.. Its a testament to Matts programing that I haven't burned my laptop and pushed the taco over a cliff, I'm sure it would be in 6th gear when it landed.

Ok, after uninstalling and re-installing I assume you installed drivers and updated correct? Did you run your reg file to edit the registry again?

 

@Lemon Taco have you tried running it as administrator?
Edit: and you don’t have to hook it up to the truck to see if p5 will launch.

 

99.99999 percent of the time when this happens, the anti virus deleted it.
Click "install all software" again.

 

AKA put the necessary files to run the program into a quarantined state. Id also check that folder within the antivirus software

Don’t forget antimalware program too. Mine did this to me and it was my antimalware program stopping it from opening. After I disabled it, it opened.

 

I have put about 800 miles on the latest 2.0 Beta (GL) but today I want to revert to my favorite tune which was the 2nd OLE tune (the one sans the GL). It was the best performing for me so far and I think since I really don't want a GL tune I should stick to what I will be using as my daily driving tune at this point. I did buy an auto on purpose.

I am looking forward to comparing it against the next OLE non-GL tune that drops.....until then happy ECT ON

I have no idea what OLE stand for but your're going to love what the tune does. I have the same truck, early 16 model and it has done WONDERS.

Octane Learning, you can run any level of Octane and the tune adjusts. If you are on a trip and cannot find 91, you can safely use 87 octane, for example.

 

gotcha, so am I understanding correctly that the 2.0 tunes sans GL are better than the 1.05?
