The majority feels they are better (including myself) but they are considered beta and you have to download independently when they become available (follow this thread).

Sorry if this question is a repeat - this is a super long thread.

I'm looking to re-gear. I think 5.29 is best for me (Nitro recommendation). However I see 4.88 will be supported in 2.0 day-0 and 5.29 is via user submission. Can anyone share more detail on this, is that likely to happen early in development or something that will come much later. If later I might consider the 4.88 more. Although could I just run the 4.88 on 5.29 gears as an interim measure?

I should add I'm happy to provide logging for 5.29, but seeking an indication as to when they might result in a tune.

I'm with you. Going back to 2.0 OLE Base. Drivability was better with ECT on than any tune so far.

5.29 is coming later. You can run the 4.88 tune in the meantime.

Please don’t choose your gears based on which tune is available, there are plenty of guys in the 4.88 and 5.29 threads happy with their gears and don’t have any tune.

I've been on this 2.0 tune for a few months now (3000-4000 miles), and I'm not 100% sure how many versions are out there now but I'm on the OLE version. The power delivery is much better than stock and shifting is improved, but in someways it can be refined even more. However, this comment I agree with 100% and that is when in ECT mode my city/highway/all round driving experience is dam near perfect with this size truck. No real difference in MPG and I'm running 93Oct. Hell if it was factory tuned with this combination I wouldn't be writing this now.

    Nice work Matt!

I agree. I am happy with Beta OLE, but I don't use ECT though.

Guys I just received my OVtune package and happily installed the software, then my computer complained I have the "occamy.c" virus in the flash manager folder. Anyone else seeing this? I have sent and email to support but I dont know how responsive the OVtune people are.

    Have a good one.

Also agree with this, latest GL tune has been good but I believe the previous OG OLE release was the best.

However I will shift back tomorrow and report if it's actually better or it's all in my head.

Do people ever read the instructions?

One of the first things mentioned is disabling antivirus due to false positives generated by encrypted code.

Not many would be vouching for OV if it was infecting all it's users.

Oh damn I should have paid attention to the directions! Thanks for correcting me and ensuring i sleep without dreams of a computer virus infection.

Now if I reinstall, will I have to apply for a new activation code?

    Thanks

No just disable virus / malware and install again. after installation make sure to make the install folder location an exception for your antivirus / malware to not scan it.

    Hi,

I ordered the Dump tubes + OVtune during the July 4th sale and I know u were back ordered on the Dump Tubes. I got a shipping notification and tracking number on sept 18th but the package has not shipped yet. Will it ship before your move to the new location or do I have to wait until November when you get settled?

I ordered my dump tubes on the 4 July also and got shipping notification on the 18 Sep but still in ready for UPS status. Seems he prints shipping labels before he has the products so he can quickly ship when he receives them. But this generates a misleading shipping notification and causes a lot of confusion. Ovtune posted pics of the dump tubes two days ago so hopefully he will get them to UPS soon.
