I started with 1.05 when my 5.29s were installed. I found that the truck goes through the gears much too fast.

Moved to 11600, which is the current 4.88 beta and found it much too sensitive. I think it’s dangerous off-road or onroad in the rain, but did shift much better. 4lo was insane.

I’m now on 19800 while I wait for the 4.88 version of 19800(and eventually 5.29 version). I like this one is the best. It still goes through the gears way too fast, but think the upcoming 4.88 version will fix it.

I’d go to 19800 if I were you, or wait until yesterday morning when the 4.88 version will release.

I saw several pages back that Mat said the only change to 19800 was a softer tip in. Not sure if it will be the only change on the 4.88 tune.

not sure either, but hope so. 11600 was great shifting, I think I’d be happy with a softer tip in version.

Thank you for the input! I’ve been eying the 4.88 tune as the 1.05 doesn’t really go well with gears. Will have to try that in the meantime until the 5.29 tune comes out

On my completely stock 2017 OR, 19800/91oct/4B04 totally nails it. Tip in is perfect, smooth/quick gear changes, shift points are on the money. Even the rev limiter is clean (seems like a hard cut at 6700rpm).

Interesting note: tip-in seems to get more aggressive once adaptations are done. I noticed this behavior on the first and second OLE builds (both of which went from being initially about right to somewhat aggressive) as well as 19800/91 (went from a bit slack to perfect).

    Nice work @OVTune! (ticket #10436)

How many miles for this "adaptation"?

    Thanks,

I think I'm just gonna stick with 2.0 OLE build 16012. It's almost perfect for me and my driving style.

16012 is not OLE, it's 91/03 octane. That being said, I agree with you. For my lifted Off Road with 33's this tune is just about perfect. I've got about 100 miles on 19800 (91 octane) and 16012 is (so far) much more refined.

What's better about 16012? I don't think I got to try that one.

For me: Really nice linear and predictable throttle response, perfect tip-in, almost zero dead-pedal, plenty of power, smooth shifting at practically perfect shift points, good gas mileage. 19800 feels rough and unpolished in comparison. 16012s only drawbacks are being stuck with the current gearlock implementation, and it's 91/93 only. No 87 version. However, if I had to pick one tune to live with forever from everything that Mat has released so far, 16012 would be it hands-down.

Did you clear LV with 19800? After clearing LV it’s always chunky and weird for at least 100 miles

Nope, didn't clear anything. Just flashed 19800 and idled for 10 minutes before driving.
