2020 Tacoma transmission tune is identical to 2019.
    No changes to shift points.
No changes to torque converter tuning
No changes to Valve timing since Toyotas 04B04 TSB Release
So far no changes to anything....

will have a blog post on what has been updated.

    87 octane
    Aggressive tip-in
    4.88 gearing

If so please PM me

Well if I can't find anything then there won't be one.
After seeing the guys at Toyota talk about the 2020 and the changes I was expecting to see some pretty significant rewrites to the transmission / throttle / etc.
    But so far...........

That’s interesting, I remember watching a short interview on YouTube where TFL questioned them and one guy specifically said they made changes. You think it was just another TSB? or maybe nothing’s rolled out yet? I’m definitely interested to see what you find in the 2020 tacos. :hattip:

    yes, this video.

I'm not seeing any difference from 2019 calibration. Very unlikely there is any TSB. Every tune has been the same since 2017 04B04, and 04A61 2018 TSBs.

He does say 2019 going into this (2020)

This is funny because there’s a couple in the 2020 threads that had OV in their 18’s, but say their 20’s simply don’t need it.

One guy test drove the 19 and 20 and swore the 20 just rode so much nicer. Can’t find the damn thread though.

Was there a difference between the 2018 and 2019 calibrations? Maybe 2018 was the break year for a change.

I think we’ve heard that for every model year. There’s always some guy that says it’s perfect. After 5,000 miles they are here asking about the tune because the factory calibrations are still garbage.

Go Toyota, upgrade the 2020 to err rear drum brakes. Did they install a fancy tape deck as well. The Tacoma could be so much more if it wasn't for Toyota.

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
after being on 19800 87 for a bit, i still like it. mileage isn’t back up yet, but i’m sure it will creep back up (winter gas isn’t helping either).

Any idea what the final 2.0 is going to look like?

There most assuredly is some of what you describe.

Then there are those with vehicles that have early Toyota tunes. Buying a 2018/19 with the latest Toyota tune does provide a huge difference from a 2016 where the owner only drove the original tune and early to mid OV. The latest Toyota seems to satisfy some percentage.

Please don’t take the above to imply that *I* am saying the latest Toyota tune is either great or comparable to OVs later tunes.

I'll double check but I believe there has not been any difference after 04A61 2018.

    and 04A61 2018 matches 04B04 2017.

This is when they redesigned the intake VVT tables, torque converter tables, and shift tables to "fix" the big stuttering problems. 2019 and beyond so far is the same as this.

Agree. 04b00 was steaming garbage, 04b01 was better but that’s not staying much. Eventually traded for a MT and 04b12 still left something to be desired. 04b13 is definitely the best factory calibration but still no where close to even the older 1.0x tunes. 2.0 is what this truck *should* have been

New on the Pro: Power Seats, Front Camera, 16lb Wheel weight savings, Re-tuned shocks because of wheel weight, Brighter headlights w/ goofy etching & paint color which they'll probably release to the off-road in 2021 due to demand.
