    it's almost ready

Also, for anyone with the OFT Handheld interested in doing their own tuning, head to Forum.toyotacal.net

All of our self tuning information will be located here. The editing software, etc.

Gad zukes, yet another place to hunt for information. Is this your site, or just a site that has self tuning info?

    I own this forum.

This is only and specifically for self tuning which is not related to OVTunes tunes, tacoma tunes, etc. so if you're interested in "tacoma tuning" that's not the place to go to unless you are making your own tune.
And I think it's appropriate to actually completely separate that, otherwise there will be more confusion

This self tuning is only accessible via HH, no? Will tuning be available in the future via laptop?

For us 2018 guys, our HH instructions and software update will be emailed to us once there’s a fix for the error message correct? Or do we do a zen desk?

I haven’t updated my tune in awhile. I have the 04B04 ECU without the TSB. Can anyone tell me if I need this TSB to flash the most recent files?

Check again for the tune labeled ‘4.88 stock exhaust’ .... either 87 or 91 octane

Thanks, I checked again and I’m seeing two lists for O4BO4. But those say “04B04 2016-2017 Auto with latest TSB”.
Maybe I’m misreading it. Is that the tune plus the TSB or is the TSB a requirement before flashing?
And since both list seem to be labeled the same, what’s the difference between the two?
Sorry, I realize I’m way behind on the current status of the tune..thanks for the help.

So I just recently tuned to beta 2.0 04A61 on my 18 because I've been out of the country. I love it... It's powerful shifts great in the city and feels right but I have a few questions. I recently did a road trip from DC area to upstate SC, to CHS and then back to the DC area. I95 is very flat but the truck still downshifts often to 4th gear crossing overpasses. Annoying. I tried putting it in "S" mode and using gear lock to keep it in 5/6 but it still downshifts to 4th. Is that normal? I thought that was the purpose of the gear lock. Will this change in the just announced 2.0 final release? Bc that is my only complaint of the tune is the downshifting on the interstate to 4th for overpasses and that causing gas mileage cruising at 75 to be around 16 mpg. Still much much better than stock but I also expected a bit better on the highway for mpg.

If your CALID is 04B04 then you have the ‘latest TSB’.

One list is for pf5 flash (no dongle) and the other is pcm flash (dongle).

Running 19800 91 octane and using 93. Below 65 and in around DC no issues. Issues start at 70+ and interstate cruising. I'm not a speed demon by any means and set CC at 75 and every overpass and some hills it will downshift to 4th rather in D or S 6/5. Love, love love the tune outside of that and getting 16 mpg on the highway.

Edit: I went to SC to get sliders and I am running 265/75/16 wildpeaks so I'm only a bit heavier than stock.

I don't think the tune plays well with adaptive cruise control in its current iterations. I *believe* it does if you disable adaptive cruise.

Sounds like you did not have gear lock activated with the situation you describe. If you turn on ECT, gear lock will activate and it will not downshift when you stick your foot into it whether in D or S mode.

(It will downshift if you let the rpm get down to 1100 and your speed drops.)

I also am running 2.0 19800 and in my experience (about 1000 miles) it is flawless.

Edit: (Don’t use gearlock it with cruise control or it will downshift on CC demand)

I had ECT on but I guess if it automatically downshifts w CC on then that defeats the purpose. I noticed I could feather throttle w out cruise control and hold 5 or 6 on overpasses and hills tho. Luckily most of my driving is in around the city and seldom do I actually get to cruise at 70+ so it's basically a moot point except for road trips. However, I love CC for roads trips that are 2 hours +. Thanks for the replys.
