Make sure you call them and complain/let them know on that, that you needed it on the date specified. I’ve gotten a lot of free stuff or credits that way including my tweeters because they were late

I apologize if this has been answered before, I have a 2016+ model V6 OR Tacoma.

Which TSBs exactly are recommended to be flashed on one's truck by the dealer, prior to, flashing with the OVtune ?

And is this merely a recommendation ? or strictly mandatory to have those TSBs completed prior to flashing ? I Dont want to flash with OV if there are predecessor updates that need to be made by the dealer first.

    Thanks ahead of time.

It is, for sure. I bought this truck even though I was underwhelmed with the drivability after a test drive, because I loved the reliability, snow and offroad capabilities and because I had read about how much better it is with OVTune. I haven't had a chance to really give it hell or anything because of slick roads, but just the driving out of the parking lot at work I noticed a huge difference. This isn't a subtle tune, this is a big change.

2016+ is not specific enough, exact year is needed, and ECU software versions and model year don't line up exactly. Updating to the latest TSB for your truck is not optional, it is required. The flash process won't work if you don't get the ECU up to the latest Toyota release first.

^^^ this and if he would identify his location there is a possibility that one of the "TSB Volunteers" might be local to him and could assist. Oh well.

Flashed the 87 2.0 beta on my 2020 and huge difference. I was not expecting much but it feels like I’m driving a completly different vehicle. Biggest difference is when flooring it, the truck no long jerks like it’s being choked. Also with the truck running properly, my exhaust sounds much better in my opinion.

Just got my '19 TRD OR AT flashed with 87oct 1.05 performance this afternoon.
I've only put 20 miles on the truck after flashing to 1.05. So far, I am impressed. I've had ecu-tuned turbo cars with good gains in power and drivability; I didn't think ECU tuning a naturally aspirated truck would be as pronounced a change compared to a turbo, but I stand corrected...
The truck feels more responsive off the line, less lag before it gets going. Accelerating, it doesn't try to shift me up to the next gear and feel like its lugging the engine.
Didn't realize a beta 2.0 was just released. Exciting. Interested to try the 91 performance tunes.

I downloaded the tune directly from the ovtune website. I don’t think the software has been updated.

Go in this page: https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/2-0-public. All the way at the bottom find where it says 2020 tunes and download the 87 file to your desktop. Then just follow the directions on how to flash

Well it's looking more and more that the only way to get this tune for my handheld is to buy a computer. When I ordered 14mo ago I thought it was already programmed. No one to blame but myself. :notsure::pout:
