Yep. I've got about 500 miles on the 2.0 19800 91 octane tune. While I agree with you that the 2020 factory code is improved (in my case particularly with ECT engaged), the tune is still noticeably better.

Somewhere in this thread Matt relayed that the 2020 stock tune files are identical to the 2019 stock tune files. I test drove a 2020 for kicks and I could not discern any difference relative to my 2019 OR.

But there is a difference between the 2020 and the 2018, which I previously owned. Noticeable.

I do recall Mat stating this so went digging and found it.
Even though the tables might be identical there is definitely something different. Driving up to my local snowboarding mtn of Mt Bachelor, the ‘19 stock tune would hunt gears like crazy! So much so I would go into S mode to lockout 6th. Same section of the road ‘20 stock tune holds gear without shifting into S mode.

Would be nice to hear from the master himself, to see if he found anything different within the implementation code on said tables.

I wonder if there’s some small mechanical difference in the transmission and torque converter valving that makes it behave differently with the same control code.

So far I have not found any "major" difference in the 2019 or 2020 tunes.
Still uses same VVT as 04B04 tsb
Same shift maps that came out since 2018 04A61
Same torque controls, torque tables, etc.

However, the difference may be in the code itself, not the tables
The code is bulky, and control for throttle, shifting via torque, is complex...

Have you had any luck diagnosing the problems for the 2019 shift points and the throttle cutting out at wide open throttle?

    For 3-4 shift yes.

But throttle cutting out, no, because I believe it's the same issue. 3-4 shift, throttle isn't cutting, it's hitting fuel cut before shift

Right, fuel cut. Is the engine designed to cut fuel at redline? That's what it feels like is happening to my truck anyway. :notsure: Please, what might be the solution? Earlier shift points so it doesn't bounce off of redline? Thanks! Appreciate all your efforts!

Yes it cuts at the rev limit, that's what it's designed to do.
The shift points and a few other tables need adjusted.

All the issues, quirks, etc on any of the betas (except ones we just aren't using anything from) are all cleaned up in beta

2017 TRD OR AT 04B04 w/ TRD intake and TRD exhaust. 2 inch lift and 275/70R17 E rated tires.

Was running 1.05 performance 91 octane for the last few months and was enjoying how the truck accelerated and behaved on the highway, especially with ECT PWR on. The aggressive throttle tip in didn't bother me, was afraid of how it would be in 4 Low from what I've read on here but it performed great. Only negative was going in reverse the throttle tip in was tough to control but I got used to it. MPG was 15 to 17.5 but I drive with a lead foot. I have a 20 mile interstate commute and it was awful stock. OV Tune completely changed my outlook on the vehicle and how it performed.

I did experience the fuel cut off at wide open throttle trying to merge onto the highway last week for the first time, then tried flooring it again 5 minutes later and it bounced again off of the rev limiter before experiencing a very harsh upshift that shook the whole truck. This experience scared me into trying the 2.0 91 octane beta. I do miss the aggressive throttle tip in of 1.05 performance but this 2.0 beta does feel slightly more refined and my MPGs do seem to be improving slightly.

Was wondering what the ECT PWR button does on the 2.0 91 octane beta? Is it gear locking? It doesn't seem to make the difference in performance and shifting that it made on 1.05 performance or have the gear lock effect? idk... looking forward to 2.0 final release
