radar cruise does not use stock shift logic, it uses it's own. We modify it, but the thing is shift tables are controlled by accelerator angle. When you're in cruise, the accelerator angle is 0%, so the radar cruise can use whatever it wants.

Would you be willing to share this pdf? I’m gathering the data for this type of incident. It’s happened to me before. I do not want to leave my truck with Toyota ever.again.

The more y’all mention all of these methods of recovering ecu’s, the better I feel about running the tunes!

Yep, they can't be bricked, even in the worst of scenarios.

Out of every truck we have tuned ever, only 1 ECU was not recoverable, and it had actual hardware damage (corroded pins) from the factory.

I know this is an OVtune thread, but if throttle response is the only thing bothering you about your truck, then maybe Pedal Commander or a similar device will be enough to solve the problem.

    I am dying for 2.0
Any betas using the single shift tables?
This thing is driving me fucking crazy.
If the 2.0 doesnt help, truck is gone. There is no way this transmission will last shifting like this.

I finally got around to swapping 91 octane into my truck last weekend, so I thought I'd try 25600. I don't really want to offer a review, because I only have half a tank on it. Let's just say it was curious, but I wanted to give it some miles. But, this morning the truck cut out as I was trying to pull away from a stop sign on top of a hill. It seemed to run okay on the highway into town, but then when I got off of the highway and was driving in town I got a shudder which felt to me like misfiring. Also had another cut out trying to turn into a parking lot. We went ahead and ate lunch, and the drive home was uneventful. When I got home I flashed back to 19800.

I am only posting because a couple of folks have messaged me and asked for 25600. I just want to give them a heads up.

so... is OVtune radar cruise control any better or different than stock radar cruise I guess is the question.

The 25600 files weren't really designed to be used as a tune. it was designed to test one thing and flash back. Sure you can continually use them but they are not ideal, not for 5.29 or any gears.
it was just mean to test shifting and MPH cut out

Update: Home now. Unplugged the battery terminals for 10 min. Touched ends, etc. plugged laptop back in and tried to run the identify ecu. Unsuccessful. So I tried flash back to stock... it worked. Then tried to ID ECU, clear DTCs... all good again.
Not clear why it all failed this AM. Battery was at 12.2V and laptop and WiFi had good connection.
Thanks to you dudes that helped!

btw you don’t need connected to WiFi to use the software, just to download the tunes.

Most common issue is if someone bumps the cable so it loses connection during the flashing process or they have a bad USB port.
