I updated my truck to the latest TSB two weeks ago as a little side project (04A61), and flashed 2.0Beta 19800 91 (Light armor, 31s with 18" wheels). 600 miles later, I am happy to say that I am in love with my truck for the first time since I pulled it off the lot. Tip in is perfect (was running 1.05 91 on 04A60 and it was a bit jumpy). Gas mileage went up 2mpg. Transmission performance is smooth as silk; no more dead pedal at that 70-75 zone where you would have to push it halfway to the floor to build RPM to pass, no more gear hunting, and no more screaming engine just to gently increase speed. This his how the truck should have come from the factory.

Very happy .... THANK YOU MATT and the OVT team.

How did you update from 04A60 to 04A61? I need to do the same thing to use the beta files, but my dealer told me they won't update without proof of an issue that the TSB would solve. IIRC that's the TSB for engine stutter at high altitude, and since my dealer is just above sea level there's no way for them to prove an issue.

Tell them it happened at altitude, and you want it fixed. Let them know they can drive it to altitude if they would like. Has worked for a lot of people.

I’ve been on 16012 for quite some time. Holding off from flashing to 19800. Anyone willing to offer advice on differences?

I've tried it with and without. There is no option to FLASH IT on PCMflash. The buttons I mentioned in my last post are the only ones appearing.

For me on my 2016 16012 is golden. Love it. Tried the 2 tunes that came out after that and did not like the shifting or tip in.
If this was my final tune I would be totally satisfied.
Looking forward to 2.0 but as an OG dongle guy I guess I have to switch over to dongleless. Bummer

^^^ is what vvv should do. Have seen several posts like yours recently and no resolution - does not mean there is not one - just saying us P5F users are not having un-resolved issues. ??

Guess that did not go so well, so far. Maybe tomorrow as it will be Easter. We won't give up hope. Eventually sounds nicer.

I hear ya. I just had some time and wanted to try out 1.05, I only became aware of the evolution of the hardware yesterday. I'll give it another go tomorrow but start the swapping process Monday regardless of the outcome. Thanks everyone for the help.

Don't you need to use p5Flash? I have a dongle and need to use the old flashing software.

The partial 16-17-18 release didn't ever happen. There was a release for 2019's instead. But yeah, things haven't gone so well.

Do you still have the 2018 16012 file on hand? I would love to give it a try, but I bought the flash kit too late and only 19800 was available. I'm really happy with 19800 as well as the 1.05 performance file, but it would be fun to try another tune while waiting for 2.0 final.

I have good things to say about 19800 (especially compared to stock), but I don't know how it compares to 16012.

@OVTune just to clarify as I'm reading through posts after post. The above gear selector positions will only be implemented in the full 2.0 release correct... I'm gonna flash to the 2017 04b04 2.0 beta that is currently on the page, and I'm assuming that with ECT on it will not downshift. Is this correct?

Btw thanks for everything you have done for this truck!

    Stay safe and healthy.

Anyone dyno their 2017 tune with a K&N? What are horsepower gain potentials? Looking to get the low RPM/torque and HP up. There’s mention of going Catless. Anyone have any 2017 results and what they did here? I don’t have emissions so I am seriously considering this. I read 30 or so pages but 3000+ is a tad overwhelming, even trying to narrow down with search so I’m curious about some numbers.
On another note, my neighbor shows up with his 2017 and tells me I have to drive his truck. So, I said ok and WOW pedal response was RIGHT THERE. No lag at all. Very snappy. I asked and was VERY surprised he said he installed pedal commander. A plug and play box you install in the harness where the pedal plugs in. 10 minute install. With Vf are we able to adjust this? Thanks for the input.

Yes, same experience for me. Tried 19800 and didn't like the tip in. Went back to 16012 and patiently waiting for 2.0

Thanks for the input. I would like ECT to work as designed. Other than that it’s pretty nice.
