How does tire size and weight affect acceleration?

last time I did a 0-60 run on my stock MT DCSB I got an average of 6.6ish if I remember correctly.

Since then, I have gone up to wider/heavier and larger tires (31s)

I just did a few 0-60 runs with Ovtune 2.0 SuperFoB premium, and I am shocked that my times are averaging from 8.2 to 8.5, which is a little more than a second slower than stock.

I know larger tires make a difference, but I didn’t realize how drastic it can be.

Heavy/big tires are one of the biggest power impacting mods.

For reference a stage 2 harrop tundra I tuned put down more than 100HP less than it should because of big heavy 37s.
On stock tires power should be around 550-570 WHP,
With the 37s, it did 430WHP.

Also since you're using SFOB, you should be able to get that timing lower if youre shifting 7k+ rpm

thanks. appreciate this. 7+ might be a little out of my comfort zone.

I upgraded to 2.0 last week and the difference is night and day.

I just did 500 mile trip through the mountains. I am really impressed with the performance of tune.

I know it sounds scary, but if you ever need it, it's there.
The Camry, same engine, revs to 6900 stock.
I've revved to 7200 in boost.
As long as you're not low on oil or doing it on a cold engine you should be fine.

    Funny..
2 days ago went to the cabin east of Seattle. Saw a tundra with big ass tires + spacers closing pretty fast on the left.
I let him level with me, gave him a look and he saw my rear for next 10 miles...

Maybe I’m misunderstanding. Are you saying the tundra couldn’t keep up?

Maybe he was using your draft to save gas and was not racing you at all. Nice try!

You HAVE to disable all of your antivirus software to download ovtune software. It will even show as an (Trojan Virus) in windows. It is safe to download ovtune software. Wrote in large letters just so that u would read it properly. Not trying to be an ass. Windows defender and most antivirus software will block ovtune software. Kind of a pain in the ass, but u need to learn which items to turn off to be able to tune correctly. I have been playing with my windows defender to figure out the best way to use ovtune. Good Luck

Oh.. speaking of gas. Round trip over the pass while racing v8's and some dirt road driving resulted in 20 mpg (87 octane)

Does the increased redline phase in over time after the values are reset? I can't get above the stock redline since flashing the 2.0 final. It's not like I spend a lot of time that far up in the tach, but it seemed odd that it wasn't revving as high as on the betas.

Switch to 25s, I should get 500 WHP on my stock Tacoma, and 38 MPG. :anonymous:

I keep getting error downloading file when trying to do this. I have excluded all the OVTune folders in antivirus/disabled it, run as admin etc.. so I'm not sure what's blocking it?

They might not be available in FM. I came across the same thing when grabbing 2020 stock tunes from FM a couple weeks back.

I’m pretty sure the 2020 ones are in vf. I don’t think they’ve been added to fm yet
