Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I've had his tune downloaded for a while now. I had another tune that quite can't recall atm, but the tip in was too brutal.

very ez to lessen the tip-in with vf. - on mine........I increased the tip-in along with some other gear settings from a 2.0/93 octane map, it drives like ECT is on.

still hoping for a proper performance tune tho

M+W tip in isn't that bad. I have a similar version of his M+W, without the higher upshift values. Been driving on that for a few days now. Gets to speed much faster, still upshifts like stock 2.0 tune, but downshifts pretty early. I have an 04B04 version if you'd like to give it a try.

 

I was thinking of using his tune that says it could give Matt's 2.0 a run for it's money. Anyone have input on that tune?

 

You may not like that one. He says it has the most aggressive tip in. Lol

In my opinion, no. I just didn't like how long it stayed in gear before upshifting. It's fun to drive, but my city driving took one hellofa hit in MPG's.

Give his M+W a shot, you may like it. If not, I've got mine I can send your way.

 

Same here on my ‘19. Lowered upshift points and mildly tweaked downshifts and I like it very much. Got my mpg’s back.

 

I'm undecided. I was pretty blown away by Matt's 2.0 tune TBH, it felt extremely smooth and had exactly the throttle response and shifting I wanted. It may be because that was the first tune I flashed though and was such an improvement from stock that I was extremely impressed. I have been running the M+W 3.1 for about a week now and I do love it but think it takes some getting used to. I quickly realized that the name is accurate though- it is mild if you feather the pedal, but when you get on it it responds really quickly and gets wild. It does hold gears longer than I prefer as of right now when I'm getting on it though as @ktbell444 mentioned.
