Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Thought it was just me when I got the 18' AT, figured I just needed time to 'get used' to the way this truck drives, but after 3k miles I think I hate it more now than when I first got it. If OVTune doesn't make this thing enjoyable to drive I may have to trade in for a MT, or switch from Tacomas entirely

I had an 04' Tacoma and loved it, four banger with 175K miles, and it could run circles around my brand new 16' V6. In any event, if you have Tune (I have 1.04) and a shift sense PRO add on (I think that is what its called), and use them together you will be happy - I am happy now, and just hope 1.05 will finally be the fix it to where I don't need the shift sense anymore.

LOL that is crazy. I couldn't imagine the crap you have to deal with on this truck. I have only really messed with EFI on older cars, which are sooo much simpler.

Imagine the things you can accomplish with a team of Toyota engineers, and their full array of tools. The Tacoma would run 10s on 87!

I had been thinking of getting both, but from what I've been reading, I really hope just the Tune is the magic bullet I'm looking for...

The RCA Cambia 10 works. It has a removable keyboard. All you need is a USB mutliport adapter. Anything like that either tablet or laptop work and they hide nicely in the truck.

2. Direct injection fuel pressure based on load and rpm. Below 2800 RPM pressure targets are much less than peak pressure. By modifying higher load pressure, and injection timing, we are seeing much better and more stable ignition (aka better efficiency)
3. Rigorous cleaning of ignition. i've taken 100+ logs driving at various speeds, throttle, etc and have cleaned the ignition tables in cycles.
4. Valve timing

Here is an image of stock v 1.05 current ignition.

Anyone know if this is still an issue?

Didn't take long for people to completely ignore the "Don't ask questions in this thread" part of the OP.
Anyway, ordered mine on 6/16. Had it installed by 6/25. Running V1.4 87octane on a stock truck. It took a while to install because I didnt know that I needed the TSB 0077-16 Rev1 to load the OV Tune. Make sure you get that done first if you want to flash your truck right away.

I took this from the review section.
I don't think I have that--and I am not able to get it as I live 5 hours away from the dealer and they aren't very helpful
