    Yes it's regarding the blog.

    Tonight the blog will be covering how ignition control works in this ECU, adjustments to octane, and what we have changed in 1.05.

    So a sample of what we've done is below.

    We know that controlling ignition, and ignition timing on this engine in general is quite pesky.
    Well we've decided to completely rewrite the cables, change the code and hex to do so. ( we are also doing this with a few other tables to get better resolution).
    Nearly 1/3 of the stock programming ignition tables are just for idle. It's such a waste of space, and limits how well ignition can be controlled when off idle.
    The stock table even has cell range from 550 rpm to 570 rpm. It's honestly quite pointless, when even sitting at idle the RPM will fluctuate +/- 50 rpm. So rather than the ECU look up a new value it can retain the same value for this tiny fluctuation or rpm.

    for example in this image is a *stock* ignition table, the area highlighted in blue is from 500 rpm to 1000 rpm. So much of the table is for this, when it cannot even used 90% of this tables area due to how quickly RPMs change from off idle.

    So, we've rewrote the tables to make better sense, and give us much finer ignition tuning / resolution, as you can see below

    Wow... why the heck did Toyota feel it necessary to micro manage idle - especially with ignition timing? Sometimes it makes me wonder if all this garbage was done to mask shit, rather than fix the problems they ran into. Doh
