Yes, the advantage is that you can use 1.05 TODAY (assuming you have a dongle).

I go about 15 miles on 1.05 91 octane this morning on my commute with a mix of highway (65mph) and city streets. I didn't let it idle for the suggested 10-15 min.

I've had every tune since 1.01b and most recently was running 1.04r

    A few impressions:
-throttle response - much more sensitive than 1.04r but still not too aggressive.
-no more clunk coming to a stop
-shifts seem faster and smoother than before
-there is not jump in power at 3500 rpm. I didn't get on the gas too hard at all but previously the spike snuck up on me and it didn't today.

Most importantly though - there is usable power under 2000 rpm!!! On overpasses where I was previously in 4th gear to maintain speed I was able to hold 6th and maintain speed! On flat ground it did get in to 6th around 45mph once or twice but I was still able to build speed at a reasonable rate until I got up to 65/70.

It sounds like it will only get better too! I'm hopeful that I won't have to actively think about the shifting and power delivery during normal driving anymore like we've had to do in the past!

Noob to flashing please forgive me. When I try and download the software windows defender quarantines the file. Do I need to turn it off every time I open the files?

Overall my first impressions of 1.05 93 is very positive. I flashed the tune this morning and completed a 10 min idle learn. I did a 50 mile test (mostly highway around 75 mph). The truck performs fantastic at highway speed. I never went into 4th. It was a beautiful thing. I really enjoy being able to accelerate in 5th without dropping down into 4th. I was able to depress the accelerator in 5th at 70 mph and the truck just accelerated easily. Low speed operation seems comparable to the TSB. Tip in is a little more aggressive than TSB, but feels right on my truck (stock gears, 265/75R16).

Great job Mat! Looking forward to trying s mode gear lock.

    91. Been using 93 gas, but going on a trip over the holidays and didn't want to get stuck where there was no 93 gas available.

I’ve spent the last few hours at work trying to determine the best way to describe the most significant improvement with respect to 1.05 versus the other versions for the AT.

So here it goes: Predictable, repeatable, and functional power train.

Yes, the initial tunes moved power and torque around into a more usable range, but the crappy transmission mapping negated the gains because ... well, as the primary link between skinny pedal and seat of the pants, it sucked.

This process has reminded me of my search for a good set of knobbies for my 990 adventure pictured in my avatar. With 125 RWHP the rear tire will always break free under hard acceleration and both skid under heavy breaking on pavement. That’s ok if the rider knows when it’s going to happen. Problems arise when it is unpredictable. They also have to work well enough in every condition.

1.05 makes me feel like I’m in finally in control of my truck instead of it driving me.

I hear that. I'm curious how it is on 91. I've been running mine on 93 with 1.04r. Patiently waiting for dongless

If you have and AT and have done the TSB, then you are on 04B04. IF you also have an OVTune kit with the dongle, then you can flash your truck to 1.05 today.

So how do we receive or retrieve the 1.05 file for flashing? Is it emailed or do I go to a link?
