I have the same setup except 4.88 w/265/75/16 which I think is the same size. Probably going to wait a bit on 1.05 as 1.04 runs beautifuly right now. I tuned back to 1.04 91 300 miles ago and it has just settled in.

Any advice from those who have had success downloading the P5Flash and/or the Tactrix driver links? I bought a cheap tablet loaded with Windows 10, but I’m having lots of trouble downloading either of the links provided in Mat’s initial setup guide.

    In progress.... And getting better!
Thanks Mat. Seriously looking forward to getting off work today so I can install the tune. I’m pretty sure that I speak for everyone here (except for that one complainer) when I say that we ALL appreciate the extensive hard work that you have put into this update. Cheers to you!

I really think that some of you guys need to back off. Be happy for the 1.05 tune, and don't obsess over minor, and very personal, preferences. At some point you can get your tune customized, but this open forum is not the place to nit pick. That was already done by the 'testers', and now you are second guessing both Mat and the testers. The basic tune should not change for one or two people who are not happy. That is what custom tuning is for.

I agree. Let everyone get the tune then ask for custom tuning.

I believe @acemastr was a tester. Yet here he is complaining about how it shifts.

So can someone clear up this up. Should we flash once the engine is at operating temp or flash and let idle learn from cold?

I feel like I’ve heard both multiple times in this thread. Would like @OVTune to give the actual word on this.

I tuned the 1>2 shift to be as smooth and seamless as possible while allowing the truck to continue to gain speed. That is what it does. There is no sudden rpm drop or momentary feeling of shift or anything. It Glides from 1> 2.

Regarding shift points, they are actually set higher than the tsb. But they are setup differently. It's currently the only way (and I've tested a lot) to get the truck to NOT get stuck in 4th on the highway.

Regarding having more available power at lower rpm, like 2000 rpm, This is what many, many people asked for??

Also, below 2000 RPM the camshafts are *slightly* dialed back from peak advance (just like the TSB) due to misfiring. That's how *Toyota* fixed their "stumble" in the TSB.

A little surprised. But I appreciate the feedback and the feedback will be taken into account. My test truck has never ran this well or as responsive at low rpm, and is getting better mpg than it has EVER seen, ever.

Also, is anyone feeling a "kick" or boost around the 2k rpm range when shifting between 1 and 2nd? It's very noticeable and abrupt on mine. It feels like the VVT is kicking in at that point. Not saying it does, but that's how it feels.[/QUOTE]

I have noticed this also when resuming acceleration after coasting as well. No gear shift occurred but truck “powers up” probably cams and fuel coming back on line.

Is there not valuable idle learning information that happens when cold? Guess I’ll go warm it up and flash as that’s the last method I’ve read on here.

I’ve seen no discernible difference on cold/warm flash, I flash whenever, lock the truck up, then before my first drive remote start the truck and let it idle down for 15 min.

I like the part how everybody did as he asked he contacted him about any issues, didn't air it on the forum. I'm ready for 04B02 to drop for us dongle owners. Really curious to see what Mat has been able to get out of this truck.

I have a cheap one too. I disabled windows defender, edge,Norton, and Firefox. It’s all good now. I only use it for tunes though.Run everything through Chrome.May be overkill but I couldn’t flash anything before that.Note:I am technologically handicapped.

All of this great mpg, more low end power, and good highway driving has me all excited. My dongle is just waiting to be used

What I’m reporting I see as more feedback. These things are minor and may again simply be due to variations in the trucks. Not nit picking. As I’ve said earlier there is a difference.

Some are complaining of the 1-2 shift. Honestly in that regards it seems fine to me. Smooth engagement and I don’t notice a lag in power. Just light throttle it shifts too high in my opinion.

These are not problems. The truck runs and drives fine and therefore I don’t see as something to flood his email inbox with. But more to discuss here with other owners.
