It seems like anytime anyone says anything remotely negative about the tune they get lynched. All feedback should be considered as it could prove useful.

Well then you obviously aren’t affected by my statement.

Flashing and driving around the block isn’t enough time to warrant quality feedback.

I’m not knocking Mat in any way when I give the feedback. We all know these trucks are bipolar and it seems Toyota planned around that variability with all the damn endless, circular tables they put in the ECU...

For me, 1.05 is a huge improvement in highway driving. Massive.

I have had the idle issue on two files but haven’t had time to try the latest and likely won’t for a couple of days - though Mat is always true to his word and I’m sure he’s addressed it.

The 1-2 shift is an issue on my truck. If driving around town and accelerating from a stop, the point where it starts to shift to 2nd to when it completes the shift takes significantly longer than prior tunes or the TSB on MY truck - which clearly doesn’t mean all have this issue. The way it hangs on 1st isnt so much about the shift point as it is about HOW it shifts.

I also never had more than a cold clunk coming to a stop on the TSB but I can replicate a delayed downshift clunk - very similar to the OG Toyota calibration if I come to a stop from speed quickly. This didn’t happen on the TSB aside from the first stop or 2 on a cold start.

I love everything OVtune has and will continue to do for the community and I have full faith in his commitment to ensure all customers are happy. And it seems MOST will be happy with the current product.

So until things die down and I have time to do some logging and work it out the custom route, I’m back on the TSB. And that’s ok

For those are still complaining, put it in S-Mode and make believe you bought a manual like you should have. :D

Several people have noted that the shift from 1st to 2nd is not ideal, even more of an issue with 4.88 gears. Seems like good feedback to me. Pretty sure that it won't go away after driving a few hundred miles.

I have 100 more miles on 1.05. I have no real complaints. Shifting is good, yes it goes to 1100 rpm easy in town but that is where your gas mileage is at. If you want to speed up, it quickly downshifts smoothly with a bit of pedal. The truck moves with ease now. Thanks OVTune for all your hard work.

4.88’s warrants a custom tune. For stock, I don’t see anything wrong with 1-2 shift, maybe the tune simply amplified your existing transmission issue? I feel no slippage what so ever, I see I benefit of leaving 1-2 shift as is

If I haven't receive 1.05 already, I'd tell you to be quiet and stop "complaining" :D

Jokes aside, I believe the FEEDBACK 1.05 users providing Mat is useful. Think of it as staged release to catch bugs that weren't present on the limited numbers of trucks running test files. Flood gate will open soon enough, grab an egg nog and enjoy the holiday

I don't mind waiting for a custom 4.88 tune. Just glad that someone else tried it out and provided feedback. Doesn't mean 1.05 tune is not good just means that guys with 4.88 gears may not be 100% satisfied.

So. I've set 1>2 back to shift like the TSB to test and the downshift clunk returns. Did not change shift points or anything else.

Also, you may notice that on 1.05 when you are off throttle the truck will upshift (sometimes) and your RPM will stay low. This is for a reason, as it helps maintain speed and makes it so the truck isn't slowing down any time you're not on throttle (unlike TSB, where you're decelerating quite quickly any time you're off the throttle). But when you are ON throttle, even 5%, the shift points are at different RPM points and axlespeed points than the TSB. This is one part of the TSB, or any prior tune / stock ecu that I felt was less than desireable. That literally any time you're not on the gas the truck is slowing down, and slowing down quickly. Requiring full time on the pedal to keep it even moving.

If you enjoy or prefer the shifting to be like the TSB, where you start decel any time you're not on the throttle, or you want the 1>2 shift to be like the TSB, then send an email request for it and I can make it. If you get a downshift clunk... well it's one way or the other. I've tried practically everything else.

Remember, this is 1.05 Standard, without any options or customization. Suited to try to relieve issues in the stock drive-train (clunking, bad mpg, etc).

I just hope that the full release of 1.05 isn’t delayed due to every reported issue that isn’t experienced by everyone. It seems the majority of feedback is basically rock solid.

I would rather have it out there for everyone and then patches or custom tunes be released for issues. No one can reasonably expect this to be everything everyone wants, especially with the scope of the changes.

Unfortunately, people are either going to read this and ignore it and still pester for fixes, or they aren't going to read this and continue to pester. Either way, I do not envy you sir

At the end of the day there’s always going to be someone unhappy no matter what you do.

Everyone drives and uses their truck different. At this point people have the choice of TSB, 1.04r, 1.05 or wait for custom tuning to get what they want
