Which is fine. It's an automatic transmission, just let it shift.

Seems like what some of you guys really want is for OVTune to just disable 6th gear completely. You'd have less shifting because you have fewer gears to work with, and overall gear ratio in the top gear will be shorter. It would completely defeat the purpose of the 6-speed auto, but at least people wouldn't complain about shifting as much.

We could call it the electronic regear feature with reduced shifting frequency. Then the rest of us could go back to enjoying the increased gas mileage of letting the 6-speed auto do its thing.

LOL. you beat me to it. What's the button press sequence to disable 6th gear and enable the new shift maps? Or is it on by default and you have to hold the brake, press the ECT button twice, Shift to 4wd, turn on cruise, shift to drive to disable?

 

I'm sure you'll put together a nice plug and play harness with a button for that center lower row like you did 2lo lol

 

Why stop there? If you also delete 5th gear then you can drive just about any freeway without ever shifting.

 

Might as well also get rid of 2 and 4. There would be so much less shifting!

Pretty soon there will be a hipster fixie Tacoma that only has one like the bicycles

 

Sounds like Toyota should beef up a CVT and put it in the Tacoma!

All we need to do is use the Meso switch panel and we can add a button to enable or disable each gear so everyone is happy

My son downloaded techstream to my new laptop, it says he needs a key? Any help appreciated. He said not to ask , he would figure it out.

@honey Are you following the instructions in the link below? I believe you skip downloading the MVCI ? drivers as well if you have the Tactrix cable and obdII adapter from your tune kit.

ETA look in the folder that you downloaded techsteam to,in there you will find the instructions file,open that with windows explorer and it should have the key code in there.

You must be patient. Your order will ship. OVTune is overloaded right now with orders and software updates. They are doing their best so just hold in there.
