My MPG improved over a few tanks, I'm assuming as the fuel trim and ignition learning set in. Give it a few tanks to get a good idea of what you'll actually be getting. I get better mileage in town (20mpg) than on the highway (18.5mpg). These trucks get crap fuel mileage above 70 mph. My truck is on 32s and loaded down with about 400 lbs of armor FWIW.

Been running the 93 octane base tune for over 700 miles now. All stock, tires and body. Drove from Louisville, Kentucky to Morristown, Tennessee this past weekend. Google says about 150 miles of interstate then 100 miles of 4 lane 55 mph hilly east Tennessee highway. Throw in a few miles of city driving, probably less than 50. I averaged 23.4 down and 23.2 back. 70-75 on the interstate and 55-65 on the four lane. Down shifted some in the hills but on the interstate it stayed in 6th gear. I'm satisfied. To each their own, some like big tires and armor, me, I'm happy hauling lumber for remodeling projects, getting "Off road" to a good fly fishing spot, and just driving it now that it acts more like I think it should. Can't wait for the next version if the improvement I've seen so far is any indication of how nice 2.0 will be.

Why do these trucks have the issue when pressing the throttle even all the way down sometimes they don't downshift to get max acceleration and instead they stay in gear and it feels you are steadily barely getting any more power?

I hated that in stock tune/tsb and it's reduced in OVtune but still present, specially when going up an incline.

I had someone ride really fast behind me( they were speeding) after changing lanes and of course I pressed the throttle all the way to create some distance but it did nowhere near it's max acceration. Fortunately the idiot speeding around slowed down but it's annoying to have this happen in these type of dangerous situations.

It's because the throttle by wire does not mean 50% pedal = 50% throttle. Compounding that, shifting is calculated using a dizzying array of factors. This is being addressed, and potentially resolved by Mats upcoming patch which re-writes the shift tables, amongst other tables. He's stated it will be released in 2019, although no definitive ETA yet.

Same here. I just use S shift to help things for now. Most of the time I skip D and go straight into S mode when coming out of Park.

Same here, however, after 4 tanks of gas on 87 base, mine is already creeping past 18 and towards 20 MPG, and this is after putting on larger/heavier tires.

Flashed 87 base last night. I used my commute this morning as a good gauge as I get the same MPGs consistently. Before I was getting like 18.7-19.0. Pulled 21.7 this morning and I was even driving way more aggressively to test it out.

lol, I know the feeling, switched to third shift this week to implement some new procedures with night operations, dead tired when I get home but can't sleep past 3 or 4 hours. On a positive note I continue to get better gas mileage going the opposite direction and no traffic to contend with......

I've never understood this kind of attitude. Your wife is your partner, not your mother. If something is important to you then she should respect that, and you two should be able to sit down, talk it over like adults, and figure out a way to make it happen. Together.
