My experience has been that the truck is always learning and will change based on how you are currently driving. For instance my truck is used to commute at times and when I drive it for a week commuting it will drive different after about 50 miles than when I take it on a long trip that is mostly freeway. It also makes a huge deference on how you drive it. Try this; drive like a grandma for a week trying to eekout the most MPG, then drive it like a rental (accelerate hard, brake late) for a week. My experience is it will shift much later after the week of driving it like a rental.

I've found how you drive it immediately after starting it makes a big difference for the entire drive. I normally baby my vehicles when cold, but found that giving it a little more gas makes it drive better the entire trip. I still don't go over 2500rpm with it but I'm less gentle with the throttle.

I understand your theory, and it's likely how Toyota programed it, the point of the tune is to make it shift better without driving it like a rental constantly. I hope OVT can make that happen with 1.03 release, and greatly reduce learning.

You are never in the power band of this motor if you stay below 2500RPM.

That entire post was 'when cold', not up to temp.

Are there any 0-60 times on these tunes after several hundred miles? Looks like there's not much change...any really.

My truck still falls on it face if you floor the truck at a dead stop. Did before and after stock and all tunes. I hope @OVTune fixes this with 1.03. so not much improvement for the 0-60 times for me.

Is that with or without traction control enabled? It will pull timing and attempt to not spin the wheels, it sound like you could be experiencing something like that.

A/T, from a dead stop push throttle all the way to the floor (WOT). Truck doesn't move for about a full second and then starts to slowly accelerate (move) until about 1500 RPM. After 1500 RPM truck will accelerate faster and act like a normal vehicle. It is like a carbureted car that the accelerator pump is defective or not adjusted correctly.

A/T guys try this from a full stop and report back. It does this consistently. I have done many 0-60 runs using OBD fusion and the times are all within .02 seconds of each other. My average times on the flat is 13.30 sec. Remember I have 34" tires, full armor, winch, RTT and rack. Someone else reported some 0-60 times that I discounted as the deviation was just to large to believe, when mine are all very close.

here's what happens to my truck when flooring from a stand-still:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGOJynrbcm0

You'll note that the rpms go to 1800rpm then drop back down. This happens with both stock tune as well as 1.02C - so definitely a function of the truck, NOT the tune. There is zero wheel spin when this happens. I was on snow the other day and floored it from a stop and the wheels spun but it was somewhat "reluctant"

Took the truck to the dealer and they described it as "truck falls on its face under hard acceleration" but were not able to give me any solutions. They asked that I leave it with them for a few days but I haven't gotten a chance to do that yet.

But.. I'm glad to see that it's not just me that is having this happen.

For kicks and giggles here is my old truck accelerating:

yes that was traction control kicking in at 50 on dry roads

Here is an excerpt from Mat's post ref 1.03 (things get buried quickly):

Looks like he's attempting to address that particular problem.

Yes - I can tell you that on the new test tune I do not feel that same hesitation when accelerating even with traction control on, and I can outright burn rubber with it off... Gas = GO
