Sorry if I understand correctly you said you were using the STOCK tune and it couldn't find the gears? Did you mean 1.04? Which octane?

Regardless, CC on hills has been a problem since the trucks inception. It doesn't know wtf it's doing at all. I cruise the coquihalla all the time and I have to modulate speed with my right foot cause CC is fucking useless on the grades. Stock tune was nigh unbearable.

Combine that with the fact the wind barrier with this truck is around 65mph and if your doing 70-75 on hills, with CC, the slightest headwind will make it downshift. Sure is annoying.

Yes, stock....i wouldn't call it hunting. It just is inconsistent on hill grade whether it will use 5th or 4th. Some it stays in 5th and i'm fine with that, others that are even less of a grade it will drop to 4th. This is with CC and a/c.

I've been running stock tune for the last 800 miles. Logging mpg's etc. Now i'm back to 1.04 91 and going to see how it does on these long 75mph highways.

I'm not one to just keep my foot on the gas during long trips, i need CC so i'm hoping OVTune can clean up the CC tables to use 5th more aggressively and stay out of 4th unless necessary (like towing).

i wanted to add and see if others noticed that the truck tuned or not is more aggressive to downshift under load if the a/c compressor is on. i know there's a greater parasitic loss due to running the compressor but the tuning seems to be too willing to downshift just because the a/c is on vs not on.

Downshift is based on requested torque which factors throttle position, with AC on the throttle position changes. As far as cruise control that is a big update for 1.05, but AC on AC off I will have to dig into to see what can be done.

1.05 is going to be really comprehensive, I've taken feedback from hundreds of trucks now on what to improve. I will add this to the list. I know cruise control is a big complaint so that was already part of it.

I have done quite a bit for the 3URFE engine in the Tundra, just nothing publicly released. A turbo kit for the Tundra with our tune will be released soon. The kit and all that is done, we are finalizing pieces of the tune.

Still on 1.03 and have the dongle...
When 1.05 is released I'll be needing instructions to install the tune with the dongle.
    1.05 looks promising..!!!

Does anyone know if 1.05 will fix the timing for upshift to 5th? Mine keeps shifting to 5th at 35 mph causing the engine RPMs to drop to 1000. Not sure if others are experiencing the same but it's just one of those things I would like to see an update for.

You'll be able to get custom tunes soon, so if it isn't ' what you like even on 1.05,you could change it that way

Either drive in S4, or get the SSP. No more chugging around town in 5th gear at 35mph.

I can tell you, I had the original tsb, then the rev1, and now the new tsb. With the first two I barely noticed any difference but with this new one I definitely notice a difference even cruise control seems to work better hold s 5th gear better holds sixth gear better transitions between gears smoother!

Price may change slightly when we do full kits with our V3 cables. Probably not though.

If you're interested in tuning I don't recommend waiting. When 1.05 releases it's going to be a storm

Can you explain what the difference will be with the new cable?
