I was very happy after first getting it done. Took care of my R to D delay. Throttle response was great but starting to shift like sh@t! Dead pedal again, loose feeling when coasting to stop. A lot of banging going on inside this thing. I have about 150 miles after the TSB. I think it relearned and I don't like what I'm feeling again. Anyone else?

Probably has placebo effect for your iniital impression of the reflash.

What about the 3 items specified on the TSB? Are those still resolved? The others have no relevance.

Mine is still going ok. Did have a harsh upshift today from 1st to 2nd gear. Very strange never had this before in 13k mi. Otherwise it's improved over the past performance.

I wonder how much the outside temperature has to do with it? It's been pushing over 100 in SoCal?

Got the update today and also asked that the u-joints be greased. Service advisor tried to tell me there are no zerks and the u-joints are not serviceable. I politely disagreed, The repair order states in addition to TSB 0077-16 (op code TC1601) performed, the u-joints were greased. The service advisor was "unavailable" when I picked up the truck. Maybe hiding out so he wouldn't have to explain how the tech greased the u-joints that "don't have zerk fittings".

Anyway there is a noticeable difference for the better! The transmission shifts as I expect it to now. I also don't have the vibration when coming to a stop.

My wife also noticed the difference, and I had not talked with her about this in advance. We made a 400 mile road trip recently over mountain passes from 400 to 4,000 feet+ and she said today that the truck seemed to be a lot smoother, before it seemed "jerky" like it couldn't find the right gear. Just goes to show you the problem was apparent to her with no advance notice of the situation.

BTW, the dealer did not put a sticker indicating the TSB update under the hood.

when I was there about 4-6 months ago for my last oil change there wasn't an update at that time, and I'd already had one update done when they fixed the low tranny oil issue that a lot of us had experienced. (and my oil was that 3/4 quart low)

I would have to believe if their was a 3rd update, they would have done it yesterday. they've been pretty on top of things so far.

What does your paperwork say as far as the version applied? I have heard a 3rd version (2nd revision to the original) maybe coming out soon

after getting my truck tsb done and reflash done, drive it for a few days and disconnect the battery overnight. worked wonders for the way my truck was acting, been holding for the last 1000 miles or so.

Edit: Probably closer to 500 miles

I had rev1 performed in december. From december to late february I had driven it and was happy with the way it drove. Brought it to another dealership to check out a sweet FJ, ended up talking to the service department and looked thru the history to find the ECU flash hadn't been performed. Truck drove poorly after the flash for about 2 weeks. Was averaging about 17mpg highway. Disconnected the battery overnight about 2 weeks ago and the truck has been great since. Back to 20-22mpg highway.
