Assuming that disconnecting the battery, while resetting the learning mode doesn't do anything to revert back on the TSB tranny updates, correct? Need to do some work but want to confirm this assumption.

Disconnecting the battery for ~15 mins should: clears trip meter, clear radio presets, perhaps cause the need to relink Sirius subscription, and restarts the learning mode for the tranny?

If you want to speed this process up, after disconnect the battery cables, touch them together (or bridge them with a wrench) NOT the battery terminals - the cable ends. This will discharge any energy stored in the various electronic items in your vehicle and takes about 3 seconds.

My latest tranny TSB was done about 4 weeks ago and it was the REV 1. The xsmn seemed to shifting smooth and not downshifting and upshifting and downshifting when going up and down the road where there are hills and inclines. But I did notice when I was sitting at Idle at the the grocery store, there was a sturdier, shurder which I guess came from the engine but haven't felt it since. Oh since the tranny rev 1 was done I have noticed mpg has went up from 19.0 to anywhere between 20.4 to 23 according if on flat or hilly roads, but holds steady around 20.3 pass couple of days. For the gas pedal, I do have to still get on it to get it awaken. The V6 in my truck seems under powered to the V6 in my wife's Murano. You just touch the gas pedal in her hoopdy and it's screaming down the road. But I needed a truck and the Taco is what I choosed!

Sorry for the stupid question but are these TSB's for the 2017's too, or only the 2016's. I know there's a lot of talk about the transmission issues. My new 17 is not at all like I'm used to driving but I just assumed that's the way it is. I bought one of the aftermarket Shift Sense devices and it made a huge difference. You would think Toyota would come up with a flash that "fixed" all of the issues so the shifting would feel more like what we are all used to. I'm not complaining at all. I drove the truck before I bought it and realized the different shift. I figured I'd just get used to it. But when I get back into one of my other vehicles, I wish the truck shifted more like they do. Would a TSB show up if you put in your VIN on the Toyota owners site? It show mine has nothing available but I don't know if that's just for recalls or if it includes TSB's.

no distinction between model years on the TSB update - one size fits all. Had both done and Rev 1 made the most difference. CC with hills still sucks but the rest is way better. Adding a ShiftSense Pro for use in the S mode and towing. Should be golden after that. Check your Toyota Care account to review services, TSB completed and recall notices. Shifting TSB should include a sticker on the underside of the hood with specifics. If you don't have one and the service documentation states you had it done go back to dealer and tell them to comply with EPA requirements and install the sticker - otherwise they are either not doing the work they reported or they are in violation of REV 1 posting requirements.

get a shiftsense Pro! you will be happy with the shifting and sense of power. There is a thread for this. Sales to open again soon as it is sold out and very popular.
