Easy to check ......Some dealerships are indicating a computer flash fixes the low fluid problem ??????o_O

According to your site there is nothing for a 2016 period. Ive got the slow engage but I don't know if this warrants another trip to the dealer. It seems a lot of,people say they're low on fluid. I'm getting the symptoms but without the diagnosis I was looking for.

    Shit.

Unless you can find a better site for checking tsb,s ?
Did you watch the technician check the fluid ?
I am willing to bet your fluid is still low and this is coming from your explanation .
Why not try practicing getting your fluid into temp mode ?
Its all I can suggest after a dealer visit .
I am not sure if every dealer is following the same check fluid procedure as there have been soo many discrepancies with the many reports coming in . Seems like Toyota is a little behind in keeping their technicians up to date .
There are also discrepancies in the actual fluid filling procedure . Guys that have a thermostat . Are the technicians actually pinning the stat or not
According to the actual Toyota procedure at the bottom of the poll , there is no mention of pinning the thermostat

Does anyone know the correct OBD2 PID for reading the trans fluid on a 2016 V6 model, AC60E.
I've tried 2182 with the Torque app and it returns 0000.
My trans was low a quart, but the symptoms have not gone away.
    So, I need to recheck.

I suspect the check has to be done at full operating temperature, with the thermostat open to where fluid is circulating through out.
But, then the issue is the check "straw" is too short.
Probably something Toyota has to correct...

What is your opinion on taking it to a valvoline? Would they know proper procedure? Would this void my warranty? As you can tell, Im hesitant to touch a ssingle bolt with a vehicle that has 500 milesmon it and is under warranty.

Yep the TSB for the 4cylinder was back in September of 2015. Nothing out on the V6 yet.

One of two things, if they checked the AT fluid hot without the special tools in post #73, they indeed would come to the conclusion that the AT fluid was overfilled. If the did use the special tools, which most dealers don't seem to have, then they actually drained the fluid even lower.

That is why most have to leave the trucks at the dealer to get the transmission temp down to 95-114 degrees F.

Taking it to another oil change shop most likely will result in disaster.

How could they check and say it was overfilled when after driving to the dealer and not sitting for hours to let properly cool, it would be "too hot" to properly check level. Hot expanded fluid would definitely run out the overflow in this case if not checked in the precise temp range. Sitting idling a totally cold engine does not take long to get to temp check stage, but once you are over it takes A LONG time to come back down to where you need to be.

I don't believe they even checked it, and are just feeding you lines to STFU

Not true necessarily. Last year Toyota came out with a new procedure to check the fluid hot. Look at the video in #73. A vacuum is applied to the transmission through the fill port, then the check plug is removed (vacuum holds in the fluid) a new check plug is inserted that accounts for the higher temp fluid height. This would on take 10 to 15 minutes to do. But the procedure and tools came out middle of last year so many service centers aren't equipped yet

Use the procedure at the bottom of the poll to check your fluid level . Its the most accurate that I know of for checking the level at home
If you pin the thermostat open with a small screwdriver , you will essentially be checking the complete cooling system

Just got mine back today. A quart low they said. VIN starts with 3. They kept it all day and said they checked it both hot and cold.

This is sounding more and more like the 1 quart low due to the tow package. I know it has been asked already, anyone have low fluid and no tow package?

It's been stated many times, there is no update for the automatic transmission software for the 3.5L regardless of how many times someone reports otherwise. If/when there is an update someone will be able to post a real reference instead of repeating the BS the dealership told them

I think Im leaning towards simply letting it be. Not to say that it's 100% without a doubt fine on fluid but at least now I have documentation that states this was an issue from the start. I would be lying if I said that I would be holding on to it past 5 years/60k. I just never hold on to vehicles that long. With (rumors) of a diesel and with the Pro coming out I think Ill still be under warranty when I sell.

HA! Got truck back about 2 hours ago. What do ya know? Low tranny fluid! Topped it off. Yes, I have the tow package. Don't want to call it too soon, but it seems smoother so far. Could be my imagination though. I will be able to better assess after a few days of driving.
