    Hello folks,

I purchased my first Tacoma ever this past Jan. I will be in the Outer banks, NC this June and may drive on the beach. Of course I have 4X4, but I am worried my OEM tires that came on the truck may be an issue on the beach. They are 265, 65, 17 inch Firestone Destination LE2's. I was looking at getting a set of Bridgestone KO2's but they are $1,145 installed. They will only offer me up to $100 per trade in on my OEM tires, so I was hoping they may be good enough for beach driving until I need new tires. What is your experience and recommendation? Thank you for your input as I am new to 4X4's and Tacomas.

By the way, the KO2's were 275, 65, 17. 10 mm wider than my factory tires. I was told they wouldn't have issues with rubbing, etc. on a stock 2016.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
Lower your tire pressure and you'll be fine.

Yup, lower your tire pressure down to 10 psi for sand/beach and you'll be alright

My stock Bridgestone's did ok with 17 pounds on the beach. Do you carry your own compressor?

Glad to read this. My new SR5 came with the LE2's I didn't want anything too aggressive since my off roading is sand only. I always air down and am coming from a rust bucket 99' Jeep Cherokee so I'm looking forward to all the creature comforts this coming fishing season.

Your stocks will be fine aired down to 15psi or a little less. I wasn't impressed with my KO2's on the beach last summer to be honest with you. They seemed to plow more than turn, but it was in really loose stuff. 265/70/17's fwiw
