I've been wanting to see the '16 & '15 both side by side for comparison but couldn't find a single pic anywhere. So I went to the dealership today and took some for myself. Rather than be stingy, I thought I'd better share. Enjoy!

Very nice... Like them both, but still think the 16 just looks better.. The only thing is on the Sport, the wheels and skewp just don't look right to me personally.. Though the wheels of course can be changed.. Thanks for posting..

Both nice looking trucks. Even tho I'm not that wild(although it's ok)for the bigger grill, I do think the '16's look better to me over the 15. If I was in the market for one that's what I'd most likely be considering.

That last pic is a nice comparison pic showing the difference in bed height. It appears the '16's bed is slightly taller?

image.jpg image.jpg I just saw the TRD off road package one. It way taller than the sport package. If u look carefully, the sport TRD doesn't come with bielstien shocks, like our 2nd gen one (well at least for my 14 TRD 4x4) In fact the sport package only comes with "hitatchi/Toyota" shocks lol! I'll take pictures of it (shocks) I work next to Toyota in my area so I'll be posting up pictures here too if you don't mind OP. But here's one I took for the TRD off road image.jpg

I still prefer the plain black mirror housings on the 2nd gen Tacomas. Mine have a lot of brush scratches but they're relatively unnoticeable.

The interior on the 16 looks plainer than I would have thought. I like the new tailgate style tho.

My 12 year old SR5's interior doesn't look as plain. Just an observation and maybe I'm not seeing it in person, but from the pic of the '16, that dash doesn't look that exciting.

You'll need to see it in person cbreze. The interior is the best part about the '16's.

The 3rd gens have way too much going on with them, the exterior styling just looks so weird, almost like it's too busy, too many unnecessary curves especially in the front with that stupid lip of the bumper. The side profile also looks horrid, and the tailgate is very awkward with the huge tacoma stamp and ginormous handle. The front end is way too flat looking, especially in the side profile picture but that's just my opinion. Wish they had color matched fenders on the offroad. Toyota could have done a lot better, doesn't seem like they gave it their best with the exterior. Just my .02 though

Thanks for the comparison pics! Really interesting to see them side by side

Thank you, OP, for the comparison photos. Very helpful.

I think that the new Tacoma looks great. Your photos prove it to me.

I have been wanting to do this exact same thing, but there are none in Florida yet, thanks. That bed is deeper, can't see the reveal of the back window on the '16.

That 2016 looks hideous. A lot of the parts look like they were an after thought and stuck on after the design phase. It could have been better. With many manufacturers coming out with "retro" styling, it would've been nice to see a truck that resembles a 1983 pickup.
Once my settlement gets approved (damn lawyers) I'm buying a 2015, wanted new but I may have to get used.

It's no wonder some of the gen 2 guys suddenly developed little-dick syndrome over the release of the gen 3's. Shown side by side the new trucks look great and the gen 2's look dated. I am a little surprised myself honestly, until now I wasn't sure how much more I liked the new design but side by side it looks awesome.

I would like to know more about the third brake light in the 16. I wonder if it has a bed light built in or if it's just oversized.

I was wondering this very thing. It always seemed on the Gen 2's that the Sport was lower than the Off Road. It be nice to see the two in a '16 side by side to confirm. All the features of the off road are definitely a plus, just wish the fender flares were color keyed.

there is a bed light you can turn it on manually or have it come on when you open the door.
