That 2016 is damned ugly. Nice comparison pics, though!

The entire 2016 truck looks like an afterthought.

Those rims look like sandwich soup, the tail lights look like they were borrowed off a Mitsubishi Raider. The front end looks like an angry Pitbull, and the truck's suspension appears to be a carryover from the 2ng gen frame. They had the opportunity to fix some of the suspension shortcomings the second gen had and yet they stuck with the same design. Really too bad if you ask me.

I'll be hanging on to my supercharged 2nd gen at this point. Way more fun and way more functional offroad.

    Thank you for this!

The 3rd gen bed looks about an inch deeper.

    OP,

Great photos and thanks for sharing them & it could be a Toyota commercial. This makes the 2016 grow on me even more. I am on my way down to look at them today.

Can't wait to see the first ones arrive in Canada. Have not seen any here yet. Dealer says mine should be in by mid October

At least they put the trailer plug in the right spot. The rest of it, yuck.

    nothing cool
Nice comparison. Looks like most people in this forum who have less than 50 posts love the new 3rd gen. If I didn't have my 2011 I'd definite consider getting one. Or get one of the last 2015s. Can't wait until KC gets a few in so I can test drive one.

Thanks for the comparison pics. Have to say it makes the 2nd gens look really dated now. Not completely in love with the 3rd gens but they are starting to grow on me.

Thanks, great pics, 2016 looks better except for the nose. But it is what it is. They are not going to change it for another ten years.

    Just the basics
How do you think they got the minimal MPG increase? They removed those huge mud flaps. ;)

Not only is the grill to big it sticks way too far out making the hood look really long. The whole front end is way out of proportion and at some angles it looks really goofy.

Agree with this. Either you like it right off or you let it grow on you and like it later. With my glasses off it kind of reminds me of an old dodge dakota grill.

Larger grill will enable better cooling, more bends/forming in the tailgate will mean better resistance to bending.
Best new feature IMO are the round air vents in the dash that will allow you to direct the air anywhere without hitting limits.

As others have said, big thanks for excellent pics showing the side-by-side views!

Look at the size of the wheel wells. I am excited to see what size tires you can fit on gen3 without lifting or rubbing.
