After my test drive today, ( I thought I should drive one since I am committed to the TRD Sports) one issue some are going to have is the hood, IMHO, unnecessarily high. My wife who is just over 5 feet is never going to enjoy driving the truck. In fact I am not sure how any male who is under 5 and a half feet would manage it. Toyota may have to look at designing the seat so it can be raised. Note: If the seat can be raised manually now then I look forward to finding the lever to do so.

Other than the seat position the truck is a 25 year advancement in Toyota trucks! I found the trucks performance to be very good. It feels larger than it is. I would put that on the overly high hood made higher than necessary by the silly false hood intake. In short the truck will do all the things I want to do with it and likely a lot more. Quite a change fro a worn out 1991 4Runner. :D I look forward to a 10 year driving experience with a very capable vehicle.

That would sound like one of the side-effects of the sport model. The hood lump being entirely cosmetic.

is the 2016 longer than the outgoing gen? I want to look at a 2016, but I want to make sure it will fit in my garage.

Well it has been a few years now with my 2016 and I could not be happier. The only issue so far is the side warning system failed and had to be replaced under warranty. Other than that I am getting 25 MPG (Imperial) average. I managed almost 33 MPG in a trio last year going from Red Deer to Ft. MacMurray, Alberta. The road is pretty much flat. I installed a Back Flip tonneau cover and that is it. My only grip is with the paint coating. Around the door handles it gets scratched up pretty easily just by your finger nails.

What version are you looking at. The short or long box? Might be worth a trip to a dealer. I am sure you could compare them there.
