I bought a 2017 TRD Sport about a week ago and I am dying to add after market parts. The local auto shops tell me they are unsure how long it will take for the after market items to hit the shelves. I'm just being impatient but can some one please advise?

There are plenty of things out for your truck. What is it you're looking for? The 17 only has a few things different than the 16

most of the items that for a 2016 fit a 2017.

if there was a change, wait at least until spring of next year

Most local auto shops arent the place to buy aftermarket parts for your 35k truck.

What are you looking for that is different than fitment on a '16?

Buying the newest car of any kind means you wait the longest for aftermarket equipment specific to your year.

Just a heads up.. Toyota didn't release the 2016 to every company a year in advance. People bought, and waited 6-7 months.

All true, but as posted above there's not a lot different from 2016 to 2017, so much of what's on the market will work fine on a 2017 as best I can tell.

@Marques86 post up what you're interested in and folks here will point you in the right direction. Lots of good info here (and a bit of bitching and moaning too, but you get used to it)

Whats the difference between a 2016 TRD Sport and a 2017 Sport?? I was looking at a 17 Sport yesterday at the dealer when I was getting my 2nd 10K service done. Looked exactly the same cept it was a different color, even had the same craptastic tires but no Tri-fold cover.

Don't fret. I opened and closed it to ensure it worked when I picked up the truck. Not entirely sure when I'll open it again, but it's only been four days.

Thank you for all of your quick answers. For starters I'm going to put in a cold air in-take. The dealer didn't give me a for sure answer if I could use a K&N air filter for a 2016 but since they are both 3rd gen Tacomas I'm assuming the 2016 will work on the 2017. I'm also in the market for a grill and side steps. Thanks for the input!

Cold air kit would fit but no need for one. You're not going to get any noticeable power gains. It will sound like a jet engine but that's about it. As far as grilles they're all over the place on here just choose your poison. The new pro grille seems to be what most people are looking at. As far as steps it depends on what you're looking for. Runningboardwarehouse.com is a decent place to look if you're looking for something bolt on. There's also options for bolt on sliders or weld on sliders if you'd rather go that route.
