Yep. I had to get it from the south east region. Picked up in Columbia south Carolina. My mom lives there so it was a little easier to get it all done. And it took 4 months for toyota to approve the build. But got it. 17 TRD ORDC W/ technology package. Power tail gate lock. 17" tires and rims, tonneau cover with leds. All from the factory or done at the port install option.

I was going to order one from our dealer but found the exact one in white with only 3 miles. Searched out Cars.com and Autotrader.com and they showed me what dealer had what models of Tacoma's on their lot. Drove 85 miles and scored a good deal.

Go into the dealership, play thier game for a few minutes, tell them you want a manual trans, let them look around, then tell them to order one. That is if you can wait 3 to 6 months, depending on dealership.

    . Go order one now.

I didnt have much trouble but i got kind of lucky. All three of the dealerships i seriously inquired with said they could get me one but the one i bought from had one very near what i wanted allocated to them already that was being built a couple weeks later. It was missing the prem and tech package and had the side steps which they allowed me to change before it was built. I ended up getting exactly what i wanted for $500 over invoice, waited less than 3 weeks for it and only spent 1 hour my first time in the dealership signing papers and driving it off the lot with 5 miles on it.

I recommend finding a high volume dealership that gets alot of allocations to increase the chance theyll get a manual with the flavors you want. The dealership i bought from was huge... had over 50 tacomas in stock.

I didn't that very thing. Had my wife's car at the dealership for service and saw one on the lot. Asked a salesman to drive it and within minutes I was sold. My first manual in a long time. Sold my full size truck and have not regretted it yet. I enjoy driving this truck more every time I get in it!

    Yes, try this...

    I found mine on www.cars.com

I had to travel to get it but I got what I was looking for.

Be prepared to deal with "internet sales" though...

Some will deal, others just jerk your chain around.

Got a 17 DCSB OR MT w/o tech in pearl blue in VA. Negotiated with a dealer Dec 12th for a truck in the region, but they couldn't get it so after looking for a few weeks they put in a request and I got it Feb 9th. But I got exactly the truck I wanted and for a price I was happy with so I'd say worth the wait. They tried to sell me on an automatic or another color, but I stayed firm.

Find one on a lot somewhere in the country or on some dealers allocation list somewhere in the country. Walk into your dealer and show them the truck you found and say "either you figure out a way to get me this truck delivered here, or I will go there and get it myself" they will then tell you "but the automatic we have on the lot is so much better". You then calmly say "if you really do not want this sale I will go get it myself". Walk out the door and unless they are idiots they will find a way to get that truck for you.

This is what I did and my dealer found a way to get a truck allocated to a dealer 2 states away delivered to them. Good luck and don't give in to the gimpomatic.

Yep, be stubborn. The dealer will always try to sell you the wonderful automatics which are sitting on the lot. You will have to wait, but they should be able to find a manual for you. If they won't, find it yourself. The best way to guard against Buyer's Remorse is to get the manual.

If you want manual get it but nothing wrong with auto. I don't care if any manual guy wants to beg different auto is fine. I did have the tsb done on mine and it works just fine.

You sound like a car salesman. "If you want the manual, that is fine. But....we have these wonderful autos sitting here and after a couple of tranny updates you'll get used to the 3.90 gearing. It's fine, really it is..."

yes really it is mine needed the tsb. the gearing is fine and just in case you havent seen some post in here like I have some of the manuals are giving problems also. I don't play high and mighty when I speak of the auto neither should you get high and mighty on the manuals.

Just my opinion but all of the manual problems can be fixed one way or another. There is no fixing the current auto transmission. Like I said I'm referring to my experiences with my current truck...if your happy with yours then you either got lucky or have lower standards than I do.

I found my MT 4 hours away. Took a trip from Madison, WI to Rochester, MN. Avoided the interstate on the way home for a nice, easy break in drive. No regrets. If you want a MT, get a MT.

I won't tell you what I vote about you. Don't have to. Its to obvious and easy to figure out. I know that manual stick improves your manly status.

My local dealer had one on order when we went in and insisted on a MT OR. They had it three weeks out and if we where interested, we could have the first test drive. Well, three weeks out turned in to six weeks out and then we took a test drive. Now we own it and love the blazing blue.
After we made the deal, our salesman said that there were four others in after us offering to buy the track out frum under us.
