Yes you can, it just depends what you want on how long it takes to get it, when I placed my Order they told me 2 to 5 months.

I was lucky, walked on the lot right after a delivery came in the night before. My truck didn't even make it off the back lot, still had plastic covering everything. It was the only MT on the lot at the time, they had about 20 tacoma that day.

Found mine on cars.com or maybe it was auto trader or both, either way ended up driving 2 hrs away to get it. I have 5 Toyota dealers in a 50 mile radius from me so it would have been nice to buy locally but I got what I was looking for.

I just walked out with a 17 DCSB OR MT last night. It was a special order that the guy didn't want when it came in. Pretty rare in the MD area

This is wrong. You can not order a truck from Toyota. You can get a truck that is in the que to be built allocated to you and your dealer. But if it's not already going to be built, you can't order it.

I can't believe he ordered the truck and didn't buy it. I ordered my DCSB OR MT in January. Had to wait almost two month's to get it. Picked it up on Friday night. There's no way I was walking out of there without it.

The whole thing is... Nobody cared about your opinion on the auto trans being ok or not. OP is looking specifically for a MT truck.

Ordered mine - not a good experience. First, T wouldn't accept order with blue paint, accepted order with red. Dealer "forgot" to order options. Dealer installed cruise control, but claimed that skidplate could not be installed on SR. 6 weeks from order to build, another 3 weeks for delivery to dealer, and for dealer to get parts and install. Looking for skidplate to install myself for hunting trips, etc.

What is the build date on your truck? Like someone else mentioned, I had heard that Toyota was putting the correct ball/spring in the transmissions now. If your truck was built pretty recently, maybe that means they're not. Haven't had the stuck in 6th problem in mine yet so far...

I'm not quite sure how the order process works but I ordered my quicksand DCSB TRD OR manual with towing package on February 3rd and it showed up at my dealer on February 25th. Not sure if i got lucky or not, but only took 3 weeks.

Not sure if my story would relate due to my truck being an access cab but I went into several dealerships looking for a good deal and test drove only automatics. Until my last stop they had a 17 TRD sport 4x4 manual transmission. I drove her and it was the best drive I had out of all the trucks. Turns out someone ordered it as well and couldn't purchase it. We worked out a deal better than all the other dealerships. To sum it up I love my truck haha.

Wonder if the original guy lost his job or something. It's hard for me to imagine someone walking out without that truck. I ordered my 6MT without ever getting to test drive a manual and waited almost 5 months for it. The test drive was all smiles and I could not have been happier.

my experience as well, but it was about 3 ½ months wait. the test drive was when it was mine already, although i test drove 2 mules at 2 different dealers which were both utterly horrible... but i had a feeling and i was right! got a winner!

Yeah, the manual is just a more relaxing drive in the sense it just stays in gear. Gas mileage isn't the best but having a motor that constantly goes up and down gets tiring and affects the whole driving experience.

Excuse me for replying in this post. Just wondering if you ever made any remarks in an auto trans. thread. If you did let me tell you nobody cares about your opinion on a manual. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Good. Last time I checked this is a forum where we all are welcome to comment even if no one cares about what you say.
