They are new trucks, even if they never washed them the paint should not deteriorate like that, definitely a defect.

I figured it was a defect, I was just wondering how you guys with the problem took care of your trucks. I'm just looking out for myself is all. I'll keep it clean and keep a sharp eye on it!

So far the hood, roof, front fenders, cab and doors have been painted due to this issue. Basically most of the truck other than the bedsides and tailgate.

Did dealer take care of it rt away? Or did you have to go above them?

The dealer took care of everything but it went back multiple times because the spots showed up at different times. The hood was painted, then the roof and front fenders, then the cab and doors.

I can’t tell a difference in the color between the different panels. When they repainted it they did paint the entire panel not just the blemished area.

Truck came back from paint Monday, looks great. Toyota painted the hood, roof and fenders. Hope it holds up better this time!

Can everyone that has had issues with their paint let us know the first digit and last 6 of your VIN. Maybe there is a certain range of vins from either the Texas or Mexico plant that is affected. Since you're all here anyways, maybe this information will help others with a similar issue. (My truck is Texas built with no paint issues)

O God I once put a washer fluid in my Reservoir that had some extra bug cleaning solvent that was like some kind of Pine-Sol smell to it. Every time I used it it would make my eyes water I the cab it was so strong.

Nor my 79 Bronco. It took a little old lady Tboneing me to take that truck off the road at 500,000 miles on it. The build of that truck + my Racho lift and 33" saved my life even according to my Dad who bought the truck new and gave it to me right before HS graduation.

I kid u not it seems like pollution is worse now. With all these regs. Our riverways have never been worse but hey pay another tax on ur property and they will fix it right this time.
