My neighbor has a blue one from 2007 or 8 that has 260k miles on it and the paint still looks OK. He doesn't do shit to maintain it either. Toyota needs to own up to their crappola paint.

My body shop friend who does servco Toyota paint referrals told me Toyota paint is very thin. Chips very easy and some trucks don’t get clear coat. Buyer beware

did the spots ever come out when you used a microfiber cloth and spray? or did only the paint job fix it?

It is true. My brand new Cement 2020 has two scratches on the hood from rocks being kicked up. Living here in Phoenix rocks hitting your car on the highway is a regular thing but I have never had or seen the paint scratch so easily. The occurrences were out of the ordinary either.

if Cement is a flat color paint with no metal flake in it, then yeah. There is not clear coat on it.

I’m still fighting them. The service manager is the problem he is trying to claim it’s an aftermarket paint job even though his own body shop + 2 others all say it’s factory according to thickness measurement. Next step will be a different dealer I guess as this guy is cockblocking me.

Got my truck back with newly painted bedside. They refused to paint the rest of the bed until it's paint fails. Oh well!

If it was cheap enough I'd buy that as a basher =)

Wonder if the dealer painted and flipped it.

The paint on my 2010 Timberland Mica still looks pretty good considering I've never done anything to take care of it other than washing it every couple of months. I would be horrified if I bought a new Tacoma and had the paint problems some of you do.

I spent the past 5 weeks getting my entire truck painted under warranty after arguing with two dealerships for months and finally getting approved. Today I receive this in the mail. I hope y’all get the same letter. Anyways, here’s the freshly painted truck.

Getting my rear passenger bedside and tailgate painted as I type. All that's left of the factory paint is the front end and I expect that to go within the next year or so.

I'd really like to get that. I'm having an issue on my truck right now.
    Thanks
