Normal to have this under the clear coat if they don't fix then they have lost a costumer we all should be on the look out for this cause a 36,000$ truck should not have this problem.

All you can do is fight it. I would call corporate. Start there to start a paper trail. I can see them blaming this on something sliding on it or like a low hanging garage door or some shit. Continue to fight it until it is corrected.

The paint and glass on new vehicles keeps getting thinner and thinner.

For the clear to be failing that fast maybe it didn't get the proper amount of UV protectant in the batch of clear?

How that's terrible has to be something wrong with that batch of clear coat. I've got quite a bit of orange peel on my 2017 OR inferno but that's next level bad. That's got to be under warranty.

That looks like a 20 year old truck that’s sat in hot sun for years on end, not a new truck. That definitely needs fixed!

Keep us posted. Hate to see this. Do you think it’s possible that someone used a buffer and got through the clear?

My hood after 6,000 miles. Only powered washed waiting till I had time to get it ceramic coated. I took it to the dealer and a bunch of guys looked at it but never wrote anything up. I filed a complaint with Toyota corporate and they had me in the next week to get repainted.

Looks like my 20 year old Honda Accords paint. Toyota is following the old GM playbook. Hard to believe people are paying $36K-$45K for these trucks. Seems to be a poor value for the quality you get now days. Sad.

If you're talking about at the bottom of the fenders and doors that is supposed to be there.

    3 possibilities:

    1. The roof had been repainted to fix some sort of lot dammage (if it was <$500 they don't need to disclose it) and they did a shitty job. But this type of paint work would be pretty obvious you'd see overspray or hints somewhere that its been repainted.

    2. You do some sort of activity that involves salt water. This happened to my buddy's tacoma who carries kayaks over it, got a bunch of salt water on the roof, didn't clean it off in time, baked in the sun and within a couple weeks we noticed his clearcoat started to deteriorate fast. You don't have any rook racks installed but have you carried anything up there before??

    3. factory defect, but I'd think it would be more widespread if that were the case.

Either way kinda lucky its the roof thats the easiest panel to repaint.
