    Why ?
    I specifically bought 040 because it’s a single stage

How did this turn into the dealer wouldn’t cover it and everyone getting out their pitchforks? It’s not even Tuesday yet.
OP if you were a painter, then you know it’s a clear failure.
You shouldn’t have any issues getting it covered under warranty.
Sucks for it to happen on a brand new truck, but you know it can happen.

I really think there mustve been lot dammage and respray that wasn't done right. Are you local to the dealer you purchased it from??

Toyota may very well deny the claim if it was the result of a respray. But the dealership that sold the vehicle should step up for sure.

Because it can stain easier and will look chalky and streak around windows and streak in the handle area as it gets older .. Just keep it waxed and you should be fine .

    Right, if you neglect it.
It’s also easier to care for, easier to do corrections on, easier to touch up chips, and cheaper to repair in the event that you are in an accident.

so true! I didn't choose white for any of these reasons but you are correct. I chose white because it will look good with all black trim and wheels...

I dropped my truck off at my dealer on a Wednesday and they had the hood repainted by Friday. No problems with getting it repaired under warranty.

So I took the truck in yesterday (not the dealership where it was bought) and they sent it over to their body shop who looked at it and decided that it was a warranty issue. I am now waiting for the manager of the body shop to call me for the appointment.

Believe it or not but it was Toyota San Diego. I just got off the phone with them and they are going to repaint the whole cab.

To answer your question, I have a 2017 and no i havent had any paint issues. It saddens me to see this huge list of issues people are having with their 3rd gen tacomas. Why are they getting cheap on us
