There have been other posts on here that you may be confusing for mine. I was not told anything negative by any dealership. This was my first time bringing the truck in but there were others on here telling horror stories.

So the final outcome of all this is that they are going to take the truck and repaint the entire cab under warranty which includes a loaner vehicle.

So went to body shop yesterday they dark blue dots are a chemical reaction ae brake fluid this showed up after 10,000 service. Now got to deal with dealer! Who knows what's going to be said. If your dealer is fixing old tacomas for frame rott be aware of brake fluid spots showing up on your truck new old.

I bought my truck less than a year ago and I’m experiencing the same thing. I’m happy to see it wasn’t just my truck. I took my truck for service today and the dealership took pictures and said they would be in touch. I came home and started to reaserch the topic and here we are. Was there any documentation that was given to you? or explanation of why this is happening?

Pics look just like my truck did. No, no documentation. I was just told that Toyota was aware and that it was only happening on the BBP color.
    Good luck!

Dealers and repair shops park vehicles under lifted vehicles that can leak fluids overnight on the vehicle below. Had this happen to me on a Honda.

The 3rd Gen is just overpriced for what you get. The truck has a such a loyal base Toyota knew they could skimp on the build quality, fit, finish ,design and still sell 200 K units a year.
The truck is now 7/8 the size of of a full size pick up with a little 3.5 V6 car motor. For over $40K the truck could be so much more.

Half of the truck is an empty composite bed.

I'm super happy with the 3rd gen over my 2nd gen. Sorry you got a bad one. Good luck with the Ridgeline, Colorado or Frontier. The Tacoma is absolutely superior to the options out there and the sales figures prove that. Toyota will take care of the paint on these.

Yes, The the other options are so bad that you're right it's the best option if you need a truck bed and don't want a full size truck. All of the manufacturers need to focus on making their trucks better not bigger.

The reason why it is happening is the clear coat is failing. Unless it has been abused it should not be failing this soon. Toyota may have sprayed a bad batch of clear at the factory without the proper uv protection mixed in. Take it to the dealer and if they try to do nothing call corporate and go to a different dealer if possible. Should mot be happening on new vehicles like this any dealer that says otherwise is smoking the good stuff.

Good luck hope they fix it for you like the OP’s situation.
